who would we replace him with ?Trevor Woodhouse? Mick Moylan? anybody other names we could throw up?

The guy now at the saints Pelchen seems to know his shit , he was helping hawks build their list and is now doing the list buildind at saints .

If someone could define exactly what his role in the club is that would be great.

To my knowledge, he just deals with the contracts and the retention of players? If this is so, we haven't really had anyone of notewalk while he's been in charge. Although if he had a say on Lecca's contract I'd be pretty annoyed.

Unhappy. Coach bears primary responsibility for the shape of the list, recruiters are responsible for assessing players on talent and Vozzo is the middle man. There is nothing to suggest he can't build an effective working relationship with Simpson in the medium to long term and turn us our football department around into something notable.

Ultimately i'd like Nisbett to be replaced. So chopping and changing our football operations manager every few years is a little counter productive in that regard.

Well said.

I thought 4 years was overs for Lycett. I like the bloke, but in this day and age you only give > 3yrs to your franchise players. Plus, that means Lycett's an FA at the end of it, another Ebert waiting to happen or did his agent bend us over?

As long as he helps us get the next 4 premierships in a row he can do what he likes ;)

We gave Lecca 4 on big money and he had barely been fit for two years.

Lycett was going to become a FA eventually and could have just walked this year anyway realy. I don't think it's something that we can afford to really stress about.

Lycett hasn't even had a good full season, LeCras is AA level...

Vozzo strikes me as a smooth operator. Don't think he is the one who has been making all the decisions recently. As to whether he would make a good CEO - that is anyone's guess. Would be a quick rise for a guy who was a player agent not too long ago.

The issue with Pelchen is autocracy...Stumpy Watters lost the peeing contest (he was never in contention) and paid the price.

I wouldn't be overly concerned if Vozzo leaves, nor would I be concerned if he stays.

Yep, don't wanna go near Pelchen

What's the story with Watters ?wasnt it because of his poor communication with the footy admin .

Anyway the trading of mcevoy to the hawks so saints could get longer was impressive ,it went like this :
McEvoy to Hawks for pick 17 and a player Savage .

Longer from Lions for pick 25 and a exchange of picks 41 and lions pick 48 .

The saints then on traded pick 48 to GWS for Bruce

They also sent pick 77 to Nth melb for Delaney .

This trading period also upgraded their draft to include a extra 1st rd pick which was pick 18 to go with pick 3 and 18
