VPN'S = Total Rip Off?

Basically saying IF someone who wants to hack you can Hack you even IF you using a VPN you pay for

So is it Really worth having a VPN then?

I say people are never 100% safe from hackers but might stop the AI and Governments tracking things might not see it

I'm not sure if i'm in the minority but I never use a VPN for "protection". I generally use other methods to protect anything sensitive

I simply use it so I can pirate anything I want and not have 7 subscriptions running at once. I also use it to change my location to setup some other subscriptions like NBA Pass so its like 15% of the normal cost

I have my VPN running out near black Friday every year and i think i pay close to $30 a year which is nothing IMO and it pays for itself

Most people use VPN's for Piracy and for Work

VPN as protection was typically a marketing ploy, it was brought in when they started targeting Bittorrent users, and advertised everywhere to grab money from clueless people who just don't need it.

If you're pirating? Fine, it'll help you not get caught.
Travelling overseas to high risk areas? Fine, your data is more secure if you care that much.
For the most part (ignoring designated corporate VPN services some businesses use) VPN is useless for most people.

Ive used a VPN for years and never had an issue

I use the bog standard McAfee VPN. Only problem is it interferes with my mail server so I have to switch it off and only use it for internet banking etc. if I leave it switched on I do not receive e mail.

If I want to use a VPN I use OperaGX which has a built in one. Free and recommended. Opera also has a couple of free AI's, too.

I have found VPN can cause all sorts of issues during program development, big performance hit, lot's of things just don't work so I don't routinely use a VPN. If I was engaged in criminal enterprise I certainly would.

I use a VPN for a few things.

1. pr0n. Where I live pr0n is blacklisted and almost impossible to access without VPN.

2. Aussie TV, most Aussie TV apps don't work outside Australia, so need VPN to use them.

I had to turn off Nord Vpn because it would drop my wireless connection without being able to identify the network again until I restarted the computer. I pay for my streaming services on cycle and buy dvds so it's not an issue on desktop but I will use it on the mobile.
