No need to cry over the result were the younger team to play to final with more than 10 players under 50 games didn't play Micheal Talia who walker early and defeat him would be better match up for him would have allowd Hammling. fletcher Robert Morris's less opposition

I love how all the youth and others all saying we will be better next year but history shows you that for a long time our fans have been saying this
We will be better next year 1985
We will be better next year 1997
We will be better next year 1998
We will be better next year 2006
We will be better next year 2009
We will be better next year 2010

The stone cold reality is that we haven't won a important crucial final in 30 years and as team we choke in every major final We must change that until we do that we just a bunch of schmucks
Spot on in terms of sentiment. No guarantee next year, never is. But those teams were far far more mature teams. We are incredibly young, massively inexperienced. We were never meant to make the 8. It may not be next year, but it's coming if we hold this list together.

my positives:

Hunter has consolidated himself as a very good player. Runs his ass off and is a beautiful user. Despite his overshot hand ball. It's so sad that it was him.

Jong physically was real handy in the game, good marking around the ground, nice and tough, but still a bit Jongy sometimes. If you told me he'd play like that in a final at the start of the year though i'd be stoked.

Biggs is just a nice old half back. Like him a lot.

Hamling was fantastic, beat a much bigger man and was even taking marks under pressure.

None of Bonts, Stringer, Macrae, Dahl or Wallis melted, all contributed without having perfect games. Obviously they could've been better but the babies they are did a great job. digest this- in 6 years!!! they'll be 25, 27, 27, 29 and 29..... We are entering a very long window, don't expect it to happen right away

Guys, Tom Boyd, well yes, he's not setting the world on fire, but he's 19. Forget the hype and the cash, he needs time. He must get tougher bigger and stronger. At his size he needs to be massive, he will never be super agile. He will have learned more from this year than his whole career to date, he will know a lot more of what he has to do. Yesterday he had Pears giving it to him physically and lets face it pears is hardly the hard man of footy, Tom kinda just copped it.......he needs to stamp himself on that situation, he'll learn hopefully, great experience.

He does have the tools, needs the work now. He's 19!

Commiserations on a fantastic display of finals footy it will go down as helping create a great finals series

You did everything right to win the game finishing let you down, but for both teams to go out and attack it was great to watch.

Adelaide were playing on adrenalin and it was disappointing for either team to go out for different reasons. Your team however has so much to look forward to and I can't see any expert not picking you to make the finals next year and for years to come. I love the way your coach has made this team so attacking it's great for footy and he should be rewarded for it

Going onto an opposition board 12 hours after a heartbreaking finals loss and telling people what to think?

Classy.

We're a tolerant bunch really. Guarantee if the shoe was on the other foot and we went over to the Crows board and posted trash, we would be banned quick as a flash.

Supporters like that make me hope the Hawks tear them apart next week and they go down in a screaming heap.

Never know when the Karma bus will hit.

Hunter's errant handball at the end just had to hit the target and it was an open goal straight over the back

The Bont missed two easy set shots and then had another chance to give a handball to a man running into open goal but decided to blaze away and kick out on the full

Other scrappy shots at goal

Anyway god dam frustrating

Lot's of talk about Hunter's handball but I also feel like Robert's missed mark in the middle of the ground caused a massive shift in momentum. They didn't score a goal directly from that passage of play but if he took it, we were off and would have gone 2+ goals up, had we scored (if I recall correctly?).

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Hunter was superb. I'll regret watching us squander several easy shots for goal more than I'll rue an errant handball in the dying moments of a high stakes final.

You're wrong. All the prelims we made in the era 2005-2010 we were the third best team in it. You're only a choker if you're clearly the best team and you lose. We weren't.

Yes and huge positive:

Next year we add a 3rd year Tom Boyd, our 2014 b&f who doesn't miss tackles, Koby, Toby and either a first rounder or whoever the bloody hell wants to come and dominate the ruck or key defence

Stefan Martin may be 28 but I would give up something good for him. Can you imagine Martin, Libba, Wallis & Bont at the centre bounce?

Rewatch it. He was bumped off the kick

Didn't want to post last night - the loss hurt. We should have won that one.
I love this club as much as my own family and yesterday's march to the MCG is something i will always remember. The sea of Red White and Blue was awesome to behold and to share that moment with my Dad and my nephew and so many like minded people was so very touching. i had a tear in my eye.
So thanks to everyone at the club for their hard work and effort this year. It was a great ride and we achieved more than I ever dreamed possible at the end of last year. I could walk tall and was proud to wear my bulldogs beanie all winter at work knowing it's not too far away for us.
Let this burn in your bellies boys and go another a step further next year.
Can't wait for next season!

Don't worry about him, never seen him on our board, our mods are very tolerable and yours have every right to delete his shit.
Bad luck on the game last night, you guys certainly have plenty to work with.
Good luck in 2016

Piss of back to snowtown and truro you two headed bogun
Dont worry.. the crows wont be good enough next week against the hawks thats pretty much a given.... Only 1 team can win it after all

I loved the Bonti chant. We need more of it. Since coon-dog left we have nothing that gets the entire ground cheering as one (cooooons). Bulldogs "clap clap clap" doesn't really cut it inspirationally and "doggie doggie doggie woof....." Well, enough said. The entire supporter base got behind that Bonti encouragement. Great stuff. We were only just louder than the crows in my opinion with a hell of a lot more red, white and blue around the ground.

The issue isn't we were doing it, it was we were doing it as he was running in to kick the goal. i was in the bay next to CS, was thinking WTF y'all doing. you're going to make him miss, then he misses. Do it AFTER he kicks the goal when his concentration isn't as necessary.

The crucial moment to me was when we were up by about 8, and someone banged it into dickson right in the goal square. He didnt nudge his opponent under the flight of the ball quite enough, and that extra 30cm allowed his opponent to spoil a certain mark in the goal square from Dicko. That would have put them away i reckon :(

However, there were some real positives and most showed they can play on the big stage

I thought Hunter showed he can play finals football intensity, along with Grant, Jong, Bonts, Redpath, Dickson, Macrae and Caleb Daniel. Most of the above made crucial mistakes, but they werent over awed by the occasion and did very well

I think Daniel showed more as the sub than honeychurch did for the other 3 quarters.

It was really the crucial turnovers and loose checking down back that cost us. In finals footy, blokes like Betts need to be worn like gloves , especially early on. This mistake allowed him to get into the game

And finally, set shots killed us, and fluffing certain avenues to goal. I reckon we fluffed about 6 certain goals from not taking the correct option, errant handballs, poor kicks etc. We tidy that up and we will be dangerous !

It still hurts, but not as much as the 97 prelim which is good

Oh well, we are used to this as dogs supporters. Just have to keep the chin up , suck it up and keep the faith. :)
