Big Trent Zomer has been pretty impressive, time to get Juice back on there though IMO.

I've only just come back from cricket so I'll be giving my votes/opinions based on stats.

Jones seems to have dominated our midfield as usual. McDonald a handy 20 touches. Valenti seems to have eased straight into the next level, albeit the pre-season.

Brad Green has some decent stats. Has he been a roaming half-back flanker?

I like seeing 2 goals from Garland and Newton.

15 touches for Meesen is more than Jamar and Johnson would normally get in a season combined but it seems like Meesen barely played in the ruck (or got slaughtered with only 3 hit outs).

Bate, Bell and Buckley have reasonable figures, including a super goal for Buckley I think.

Disappointments:

Sylvia - Correct me if I'm wrong but I'd still want more than 10 touches.
Robertson - Nothing. Too busy singing. Really needs to provide more support for the younger guys in games without Neitz and there will be a few this year.
Amount of hitouts in general but I'm not sure who played in the ruck as we did have 4/5 of them.

Not sure if Robbo is to blame. Our movement into the forward line is going to cost us if we can't pick out targets. Too many easy turnovers.

The worrying sign at the moment is our short kicks and handballs. Looks like Bailey is trying to copy Williams.

Still our outs were numerous.

You can't judge players on stats

Brad Green was terrible(i don't think anyone will argue with that)

Meesen played mostly in the midfield and was very good in the first quarter playing on the wing and started in the centre square few times(as a midfielder) also looked good when he went forward

White played mostly loose in defence and Johnson played in defence as well(but with an opponent)

And Jamar was our main ruckman

Bell had a pretty bad game!!

Sylvia started slow but killed it in the third quarter

and Bate was in and out of the game....

Yeah I'm with you, we don't need to stuff around with him in the midfield. Neitz, Robbo and Newton are goal kicking full forwards and until we find someone better (maybe Garland) Bate needs to play CHF and Yze should be along side him as well.

I was thinking the same thing....i was a bit disapointed with some of Bailey's desisions but you can't judge him in the NAB cup he is probebly just trying to find out where some players best posisions are and stuff like that(i hope)

I will reserve my judgement untill after round 1.....
