vs Melbourne this week.

You know you're going badly when Melbourne supporters jump onto your bad and tell you to "stick with it, it takes time" etc.

Every opposition suppporter base has told us this over the years, I reckon, and now the Dees supporters are onto it.

Where does that leave us? :D

what??? are we playing an intra club match? Or havent you been on this planet in the last few days..dude? we are raging red hot favs at $1.50 for the spoon and to get some more business going the bookies have now put up $1.90 for us to not win a game for the whole season....;)
dont be fooled by demons, they just got lucky that half the crows went down. tigers have not had half as much luck with them playing harder opponents. they also have freo who cant play away from subi, so i think they are a good chance to notch up 2 in a row if hardwick is any good.

well, I put this to you if it was Nick Riewoldt playing for us rather than Jack, I wonder what the scoreline would have been:confused:....we need a winning forward like death valley needs a good drop of rain

Is that Nick now, or Nick when he was 21? Nick at 21 kicked 30 goals in 2003, jack last year kicked 32. And that was in a worse team where he delivery was bad.
Even if was now, actually we would have been 3 goals 2 points worse (3.3 vs 0.1), and at least Jacks going to be playing the next 6 weeks.
Tho in general, stats show trends, and don't show the full picture.
We need a winning line, forward and midfield.

Sorry dude, there isn't a good chance to notch up consecutive wins beacuse the R5 match against the Dockers is a twilight game at Subiaco.

I want to see this defence next week:

FB: Tambling Thursfield Newman
HB: Connors Post Mcguane

I'm sticking with Tambo :thumbsu:
Post will be alot more effective at the defensive end of the ground and Moore needs to go
For all your craziness this is the correct backline setup. Maybe once Rance learns the game more and builds his confidence he can move to FB, however that is highly unlikely at this stage due to pathetic decision making and "deer in headlights syndrome"

Gee it sucks that McGuane and Connors have been dropped, they have both had really good starts to the year!
Same goes with Polo, I am a big fan of his and have defended him on here alot this year, had a great preseason and still couldnt get a game round 1, so this will be a big set back he will have to bust his balls more then the others to get back into the side. But if you do the crime you do the time and I am extremly happy with the way we have went about this as a club.

Would love to see Taylor come in for his first game, we have nothing to lose... Most people already thought Melbourne would beat us and now you take out 4 of our best 22 and almost everyone will be tipping the dees.
If we were ever going to try bring young kids in and get some games into them the perfect time would be this week.

Out: Connors, Polo, Cousins, McGuane & White
Ins: Hislop, Graham, Collins, Thurstfield & Taylor

Gerard ( I hate Richmond and Freo but love West Coast ) Healy just said on 3AW Melbourne will be the shortest priced faves this weekend. We are very ordinary but that Dees v Crows game was a disgrace:eek:

Out: Conners, Cousins, McGuane, Polo, Edwards

In: Thursfield, Graham, Collins, Polak, who knows?

I'd be all over Richmond at the line if that is true.

Will be pretty similar to last year's game IMO, close but not pretty to watch. Hopefully the coaches open it up a bit, let the kids show off.

In thursfield, webbery, polak, taylor , Graham

out Conners, Cousins, McGuane, Polo, roberts (he is a joke)

if roberts isn't drop this week we are a joke

what did he do this week nothing but ball watch

In: Collins, Webberly, Dea, Thursfield and Taylor.

Bring Polak in when he proves something at Coburg.

Judging from reports; Collins, Dea and Taylor were good last week. Webberly gets rewarded for consistency. Hoping Will is fit.

White goes out with the suspended players. He was awful last week.

Did anyone on this board actually watch the Mel v Ade game? In all honesty the worst game of football I can ever remember seeing. People are saying it was a good game because it was close, both sides were horrendously awful. Adelaide were only 19 points up at ht, had no fit players on the bench for the last 40 minutes, kicked 1 goal in the whole second half and melb only overan them in the last 3 minutes. Both teams were shocking and IMO we are only a 5% increase in efficency away from beating both these teams comfortably. This increase may come from the slight decrease in pressure from the opposition the opposition this week.

Anyone who thinks Melb are a certainty based on yesterdays form cannot have seen that game.

Melbourne are by far a certainty but there is 2 reasons why the game was not a good spectacle...Adelaides zone, makes it difficult for any side to kick a big score against them (apart from the Dockers of course) and the strong swirley breeze at the 'G' Sunday made goal kicking look ordinary as well as disposals. Hence experienced players like Burton missing 4 set shots that would normally be his 'bread and butter'.

Anyone who thinks Melb are a certainty based on yesterdays form cannot have seen that game.

Anyone who knows how Adelaide play wouldn't be overly surprised.

Also, we had the youngest and most inexperienced of the 16 sides that took the field on the weekend, so pretty happy with the result. And the formline isn't bad considering we lost to Collingwood by a point and all neutral observers believe we played better.

But I agree, we're far from a "certainty". Still, I know whose shoes I'd rather be in.

Anyone who saw Coburg V Nth Ballarat on Sunday would have to agree with me when i say Troy Taylor will be a very strong chance if not a definite for this week against the Dees. Ball on a string.;)

Arms as long as his legs, sticky mits, laconic, aggresive and agile.
This kid could possibly the biggest steal of last years draft. The sooner he plays the better IMO.:thumbsu:

In: Thursfield, Astbury, Graham, Taylor, Webberley, Foley, Dea
Out: Connors, Cousins, Mcguane, Polo, Simmonds, Tuck, Moore

Not sure Foley is ready, my opinon is that he needs at least 1 week Coburg seniors playing 60 - 75% + 1 game 80 - 95 %.
Then i think he may be ready to make the transition back to AFL level.
Although he had a few good bursts through the middle playing for the Burgers reserves, it was still only the reserves. Still a bit to go for him me thinks. I don't think we will be rushing him back ahead of schedule.

Although i think Astbury may be on the verge of making a debut and Dea to a lesser extent also. I think Webberley needs a little bit more consistancy in his game.

Personally i think Collins should play for his own development, he has played at AFL level, is in relatively good form and deserves a shot for his own game to develop and grow.

Unfortuniately there's not a whole lot of Ruckmen to choose from so i would have to say i would give Simmo another week then make the change to Graham or Brown if they can produce something promising in the VFL this week. Remember the VFL are only into round 2 this week.

Taylor i agree with - see post #70.

Thursfield i agree with wholeheartedly.:thumbsu:

So i would like to see these changes:

Out: Connors, Cousins, Mcguane, Polo

In: Taylor, Thursfield, Astbury, Collins.:)
