LOL North Melbourne Supporters sound like Hawthorn Supporters last week;

"How will they stop our tall and towering forward line" :D

"Our mids will be too good for their mids......."
"Home ground advantage........."
"Dominant rucks....."

Why stop at forwards C4? :D

Since when have they had a tall forward line? Shotgun Williams:D
They had a fairly tall forward line;

Franklin, Roughead, Boyle ...... and then Williams

Jarryd "The Monster" Roughead - Did Nothing

Franklin - Overhyped

Boyle - Was decent, kicked 4 I think ?

Mids - yeah, we have you pretty well covered. Was very impressed with Murphy on Friday night though - looked great.

Home Ground Advantage - Nah. Can't see how we can have that after 1 game.

Dominant rucks- they are not yet AFL dominant, but you would have to admit we will have a clear advantage with McIntosh and Moran taking on Acland and Cloke:D in the ruck?

Carlton look like they are back playing accountable, intense Pagan footy. In 2002 we played the same kind of footy under him where we couldn't really match it with other teams talent wise, but our attack and pressure caused the more skillful teams to make lots of errors, and the standard of game dropped to our level and it becamse a slog - which we loved.

It is combated though, when the other team matches yur intensity. if we do that - and contain Fevola - we will win this pretty easily.

North are pretty average but still better than us at this stage. Just hope it's an attacking game without any injuries.

In the ruck Ackland and Cloke create a contest and that's about it. You just have to be mindful of them drifting forward as both can take a grab.

Deja Vu..................:D

I am not too worried about them going forward. I would want us to be instructing McIntosh to push forward, because he plays forward very naturally and is good below his knees - but the ruck has to be a strength for us given the mobility of Moran and McIntosh and we have to exploit it.

It only took one game to realise he is a lot better than C.Cloke.

Seem to have a lot of faith in Moran, given his 2 game experience.

All supporters are guilty of overrating many of their own players - but Moran is the exception to the rule. Will be one of the few 'athletes' who convert into a gun footballer.

Considering that he only 1st kicked a sherrin 5 years ago and is a convert from Rugby Union we couldn't be more pleased. Took him 2 years in the VFL to learn how to kick and more importantly read the play and figure out where to run to.

All bias aside - this kid is a super freak. 200cms +, 100kgs + and broke the 20m spint records at draft camp 2 years ago. 18 touches, 10 grabs and a dozen hit outs on debut which earned him a Rising Star nomination. Followed up by a midfield tagging job on Nathan Buckley of all people - and he broke even.

Plenty of reasons for North supporters to be a little bit excited by this bloke.

its a shame that Moran kicks like an amputee though.

I have had question marks over his kicking, but it has been alright so far this year.
Made one bad decision to kick across ground yesterday, the actual kicki was ok but was cut off.

Pumped a couple 50 metres plus with ease.

At the moment Moran is proving a good, athletic back-up who throws his body into ruck contests and through hard running presents as a link-up man across half forward and creates match-up problems for his slower opposition.

He'll end up being much more than that, but he is only 20.

That is 2 beers per bag of cane toads? :p
Now now Tas. I seem to remember you running around in a Carlton jumper.

My missus catches them for nothing btw. Her best in a night from our backyard is 113 iirc. Maybe I should just spend all my time down the pub and let her bring me toads to pay for my beers with. :)

Very confident of a win I am.

The Roos have their star players as every club does, but we've done a good job of negating them so far. I don't reckon Kangaroos have a better midfield than Hawthorn, and I don't think they have a beter spine than Essendon. They'll want to be a well-rounded club just to stay with us I reckon.

Carlton to win comfortably.

Essendon put on a display of speed and with their new recruits. hawthorn have some exceptional talent. I'm fairly biased when watching games in that I spend most of my time watching my own team and not really concentrating on the performance of the opposition individually. I can say that was not the case with both essendon and the hawks. Serious talent running around on the pitch for both teams, exciting stuff. The fact is the blues have an amazing balance of players to take on any team. Our poorest area is the one least mentioned and thats the forward line. Yet we win.

A few of us have been suggesting blues may have turned the corner, and its only pre-season, but as far as pre-season goes we are severely under-rated.

I've got him penciled in as a cheapy in my Supercoach Team.
He looks OK.

Sorry. I was looking for the Carlton board but seem to have found myself on the West Coast board. Which is weird, because it's clearly labelled 'Carlton' up the top of the page.

You are all living in a bizzare fantasy world. Unless I slipped into a dreamy coma, you have won what, 6 games in two years? And this pre-season you have beaten two very ordinary sides by a total of about 10 points.

North by 85.

Hahaha! You won't even kick 85 points in total. :D

Ahhh my Kangaroo friend, but you must remember this is preseason. Considering we won it in a wooden spoon year, 6 wins in two years from the season proper doesn't really matter here when one is talking about the chances of a glorified practice match. ;)

Funny, coming from a team that has yet to kick 85 points in total (and directed at a team that is yet to kick less than 100 points in total).
