I would be tempted to get JR to shadow Simpson this week, he looked ok against freo (the little bit i saw anyway).

I really think that Bentick is tailor-made for Simpson. Both about the same pace, both in-and-under, and Simpson wont hurt Bentick with his foot skills either. I've never seen a guy who gets so much of the ball use it so terribly like Simpson does.

just as the game against the hawks was a test of our development. young team vs young team. This will be a test of our spirit. Do we have the GUTS to win this game. I think we do.

Once again, both teams will be in it to win it, Carlton by 5 goals but there will be at least 1 suspension.

WHY IS IT IN CARRARA? HOW COME ITS NOT AT TELSTRA DOME? IF CARLTON MAKE THE FINALS WILL IT BE HERE IN MELBOURNE?????:mad::mad::mad::mad:

WHY????????????????????????????????????

Don't blame us.

We wanted it in Melbourne.

AFL shifted the draw around to get us playing there.

Will be a really interesting game... especially since against Essendon and Hawthorn we played two sides that were eager like us to win the cup... and now North also appear eager.. so we'll end up playing 3 teams that are trying their guts out which will do us a world of good coming into the season proper.

A win??? North looked really good today, fit, hungry and strong... we'll have a real good tussle, plus I'm concerned about Archer getting on some angry pills and roughing up a few of our younglings (Murphy, Gibbs). Don't get me wrong Archer is a legend but when he's on the field NAB cup or Real thing he bumps hard and I'm having visions of Gibbs or Murphy being in the way of one of these (fair) bumps.

North really want to win and so do we, but if we pull this one off it's a good sign for us... although Freo at home I think would of done us more good.. we have lots of WA followers and would of really been good for some extra membership.

All i kno is that i want to see some new guys get a go. dont get me wrong, id absolutely love for carlton to win the cup, but if players like grigg who will possibly play in the normal season don't get a start in the nab cup, its ridiculous. players like grigg and bower will be pushing for selection in the best 22 all year, and the nab cup is the perfect time to debut players like grigg imo

Pagan wants to play who he believes are our best players atm.

I think he's trying to win another preseason cup and get his contract extended again!!!:D

Nothing wrong with the game being played at Carrara. :p

We have a big support base all over the country. Wherever the game is played, we'll have a strong presence in the crowd. If we win this week the game will most likely be played at Telstra Dome. - Unless Brisbane beat Geelong in a shoot-out.

We knew it would be Carrara or Subiaco. Most would agree that Carrara is a better option.

Will be a really interesting game...
No it won't. We've done our time in the NAB cup. We have some extra skills work to do on the game plan prior to the season. With any luck Carlton will win.

Not good enough for my liking particularly in the passing department. We have adopted a new gameplan this year to cater for the rule changes and the obvious need for heavier scoring and whilst a win against Carlton is a win of any sorts, given that we're pretty certain of it during the fairdinkum season, it really shouldn't be high on the agenda at this point in time. I only hope the coaching staff see it that way. We've done our NAB cup bit, we need to start preparing for Collingwood round one.

Oh, and I have you quoted! :D :D :D

We QLDers tend to drink a bit more than you southern lot too. :)

That is 2 beers per bag of cane toads? :p

I am looking forward to the game, its nice to watch a game when both teams are on the same wavelength. Collingwood didn't try in round one so it was a non-event. Freo fielded a very strong side as did we so it was a great match to watch.

Pity this game is in la la land but can't win them all. Now I know how the AFL are going to meet their game quota by 2015, seems all the pre-season games will be at Carrara. :p

I reckon Carlton will need a wet track to give your guys a chance and nullify our edge in the talls department.

If it's a dry track, I can see a blow out in our favour. Just can't see you containing Thompson, Hale, Moran, McIntosh & Brown. Plus freakishly quick and skillful midget crumbers feeding off them in Harvey, Wells, Thomas, Campbell, Grant & Whyman.

We just need to shut down Fevola (like we did with Pavlich) to snuff out your hopes.

Nothing personal - justan opinion.

O'hailpin, Waite, Whitnall, Thornton, Kennedy, Fevola, Cloke and Ackland will be on the ground. Not light on for talls ourselves.

Stevens, Houlihan, Gibbs, Scotland in the midfield and the pace of Walker, Murphy, Simpson to try and keep up. Not exactly imbalanced. Fevola only kicked 2 on Saturday by the way.

Quality not quantity is what's important!;)

Cloke. :D

Thommo has only kicked 3 goals from 2 outings (but provides a contest and crumbs for our smalls). Yet we've managed to kick a score of 100+ both games.
