Can't blame the umps for that. Goldy might've been held but in reality we should've been ahead by that point anyway. Had all the play, but kept shooting ourselves in the foot by kicking it to contests in which we were outnumbered and missing easy shots. (*cough cough Jy Simpkin what the **** was that you pissweak flog. Ever heard of a drop punt?*) We deserved to win today, and should've won regardless of how **** the umpiring was. Swans completely caved in in those last ten minutes. That being said, it was nice not to be on the receiving end of a huge comeback for once. Good effort boys, hopefully we carry through this determination and effort to next week.

You would recognise a pissweek flog, no doubt you smile at one every day [emoji6] at least he has a crack, has plenty to offer and plenty of upside. The least of our worries....

Our ball movement is stagnant and our forward 50 entries are effective spitting in the face of our forwards. Systemic change is needed because that's where the problems lie.

I guess you can say we got robbed, there was 2 free kicks in that last bit of play that should've been rewarded, either that or the Simpkin goal that was missed because he didn't kick it through, could've been a win.

13-26 is the free kick differential, umps pulled Sydney across the line.

HOWEVER.

Shouldn't be ignored that we were absolutely belted and asleep at the wheel for almost 3 quarters. Still no 4 quarter effort this week. Again.
The tactics on display from our attacking all game was absolutely putrid, i've been banging on about this for weeks and this was the crescendo. The worst inside 50s ive seen all bloody season. High bombs and deep into the pocket where no forward can possibly lead.

Larkey was lucky to even get marks today, should've been paid 2 critical ones in front of goal, so you can notch that down to another robbery. Thanks Razor Ray you ****ing ego driven dickhead.

Ziebell & Cunnington was the only standout performance, credit to Clark he wore Higgins like a glove but thats only because he played 40 games with us and knew his game well enough.

Also Polec. Underrated performance, got delivered shit and still tried his best to make something happen.

Simpkin needs to have more moments like he did tonight, he could be a game changer but he seems to just miss it or trail away.

Obviously the defence was under siege all game, Aliir was able to play loose the whole time and got away with murder, we just ignored it.
The team just didn't seem to give a shit until the 4th quarter by then it was too tall of a task, sure I appreciate the fight back but just like the Port game, its all for naught if you can't deliver a 4 quarter effort game.

This team is dogshit, and it has absolutely no right to be.
We've got some real talent, some great handlers but geez our attacking plan and defensive work in stoppage/centre clearance to just allow a clearance to be won for Sydney on the outside has not worked, Goldstein was delivering some great taps but nobody could shark it cleanly except for Simpkin one time.

I can't take this man, this year is ****ing torture.

Umpiring was incredibly frustrating and inconsistent, but ultimately we failed to get up against a shit team decimated by in game injuries.

Our gameplan is bad, and made worse by a fair few dumb players, and a few of the smarter one playing below their standard. IT all starts at the bounce and shit just gets worse from their. Between our obsession with having bipolar players loose in our defence while opposition guns are loose in theirs, and our hatred of short direct kicks to move the ball forward, we just sabotage ourself at every opportunity.

I'm close to checking out. If I don't take a break from the sport I'm worried that both the industry and my club are going to get worse and I'll end up just giving it away completely.

- Ben Brown: you cannot have a key forward who demands so much of the ball, even when in poor position, but can't crash a pack. When he's on, he's so dangerous, as shown by his 9 goals in two weeks being him essentially getting off the chain for a quarter or two. But I'd be tempted to make Larkey our no. 1 target or move Taz up forward to chop them out.
