In a way i’m not overly upset we lost now the dust has settled. Didn’t deserve to win that one at all... Essendon slaughtered us at clearances for the first 3 quarters, they just marched it out at every stoppage with ease, we should have been 7-8 goals down at 3/4 time, if it wasn’t for their inaccurate kicking + Zurhaar & Brown killing it.
We need to find another avenue for clearances when Cunners is getting tagged/r*ped & Goldstein is getting toweled up. We have no effective defensive set-up at centre squares to stop the opposition when they get a run on.
Good to see we turned it around in the last quarter though.
We just looked flat today, with so many players down on their performance (bar the obvious handful that kept us in it today) the pressure wasn’t there. Maybe we were due a down week, with the way we have been playing & the toll of changing coaches etc. why did it have to be this week though!?

As I mentioned before the game, Taylor was totally out of his depth. We were basically playing 1 down with him on. He'll be a player, but let him develop in the 2's please.

Hrovat was good with ball in hand, disgraceful without. Not good enough considering we build our game around pressure and what we do without the ball.
I've been an Ahern fan but he was terrible all game.

Replace those 3 with Garner, LDU and someone else and it's enough to win that game IMO.

The selections of McMillan and Hrovat really hurt. Durdin on the players Pittard had to mark and LDU to help with or clearance work would have helped.

So disappointed with our clearance work.

I really hated how they could get the ball to players unmarked in the centre square.

We really didn't get the rub of the green with the umpires.

Then to get so close and even probably win it.

We really have improved with Shaw.
