Macmillan and Hrovat aren't best 22 in a finals side. We know that.

But Im actually ust shattered. Not even really angry.

I actually agree. But to be totally fair, I thought Hrovat was OK today. I just thought we'd gone past turning to him.

Other than that a fairly good effort from the boys. A bit of luck here and bad umpiring decision there and the game was anybody’s.

Today highlights how much we fail to control the footy on the outside. Essendon were dominant (again) in this area. Our defence held up really well considering the amount of footy they were getting inside 50.

Polec was deplorable in his role and to me he is flying under the radar. Has done next to nothing for the last few weeks.

We got killed in the middle.
Just a listless performance until the last and we were lucky to be within reach.
Cunners did his best but their mids, particularly Merrett - where was the pressure?
At half time we were down in the tackle count 37-20. Seriously? It was a slap in the face to the members that the footy we prided ourselves on playing under Shaw was nowhere to be seen.
I can handle losing the tackle count if we had more ball but * had more of the footy and comfortably laid more tackles 72-53.
The inside 50s? 61-50.
They simply outtackled and out pressured us all day.

Whoever was playing on AMT deserves to be dropped.
People bagging Mcdonald have no idea what a panic merchant like Macmillan does to the team.
It’s contagious the errors and it flows thru the backline like a plague.

Let down by the club again. Shaw needs to show this level of footy is sustainable and so far it’s proving to not be.
