Western Bulldogs announce player re-signings
The Western Bulldogs have recently completed a number of player re-signings with Matthew Croft, Steven Kretiuk, Simon Garlick Mark Alvey, Paul Dimattina and Nathan Eagleton all finalising new deals with the club.
"The retention of our mature, more experienced bracket of players has been a priority for our club and we are particularly pleased that we have finalised new agreements with a number of players that are in this category," said Stephen Newport, the Western Bulldogs Chief Operating Officer.
"The Bulldogs have a very young, talented playing list but it is equally important that we complement this group with the players who have either played more than 100 games of senior football or have been part of the AFL system for a number of years."
"The players we have re-signed today are extremely valuable members of our club and we are delighted that they will be continuing their playing careers with the Western Bulldogs," said Newport.
Matthew Croft and Steven Kretiuk have been cornerstones of the Western Bulldogs defence for the past decade.
Croft made his debut in 1991 and Kretiuk a year later, but both players past the 150-game milestone during the 2002 season.
Simon Garlick joined the Bulldogs in 1998 after playing 44 games for the Sydeny Swans between 1994-1997.
He played his 150th game against the West Coast Eagles in round 18 last season while Paul Dimattina played his 100th game against Fremantle in round 11.
Nathan Eagleton is entering his fourth year with the Western Bulldogs since being recruited from Port Adelaide, while Mark Alvey, the Bulldogs first selection at the 1997 National Draft played all 22 matches for the Bulldogs in 2002.
