WA Collingwood Supporters

Port Adelaide Supporters Group Of WA, had our meeting today at the Hydey and I thought I would pass this on for all WA Collingwood supporters. Doing this as a favour for a good mate (Collingwood Supporter).

They had a Membership ralley at the Hyde Park Hotel today and we were also there for our meeting. They were one of the largest supporter groups here in WA, and its a shame to see all the hard work of the previous committee go down the tube.

They had a bit of trouble with the supporter group and the whole lot folded last year. For those of you who dont know about it.......though them you can get CFC Number Plates, tickets for the Game ect when Collingwood play in WA.

Surprised the hell out of me when they came up to us and told us what had happened to them, as I knew how big in WA they were. And they are trying to get it up and going again. The new President for the WA Magpies is Dave Foreman, and you can get his contact details though CFC. They are hoping to get everyone back on board, and I just thought posting this on here may help them out a bit. They, like us put a lot of their time and effort into the club all for the love of it.

Also us - Port Adelaide Supporters Group and Collingwood supporters Group are getting together for Round 14 Port V Collingwood Match. Its a Friday night match and will be shown live at the Hyde Park Hotel. All are supporters from both sides are welcome!! (By the way, that was Collingwoods idea )

With the Brisbane supporters club also apparently having trouble getting off the ground it would be a shame to lose both supporter groups.

Actually Brisbane are doing pretty good, I know Matt fairly well (their pres) and all seems ok. We all often meet, and we all know each other as we have one thing in common.......when "our" team plays here we are out numbered and we all help each other out where we can. Essendon, St.kilda and Carlton have massive following in WA with well over 1000 members, Collingwood had 800....but now have to start from scratch....hence why i thought help them out a bit, it takes an enourmous amount of work...Only those involved know how much!!

We all held a huge quiz night here a while back to promote our clubs in WA, was an awesome night.....not very often you see huge group of Port Adelaide, Collingwood, Essendon, Carlton, Bulldogs, Dees, Saints, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, kangaroos, Richmond, Hawthorn and Geelong supporters in the one place all for the one cause........the boobie prize of course was 4 Docker and 4 WCE Beanies.......the losing table threw them in the bin


BUT dont think for one minute I might like Collingwood.....I still hate ya's , cant help it that me a some of me mates have no god dam taste

On the board Extreme Black and White, the chairman/president/whatever said they couldn't find a 3rd person to sit on the board. Many people suggested ways to get around that and maybe they've fixed the problem somehow.

The original Northern Army (the QLD group) is pretty much gone. Apparently alot to do with with club not helping put, and some other issues. Another bloke was trying to get a new group off the ground, and I believe it is a go ahead for that group 'cos he found the third board member.

As the secretary of the Western Magpies, we cannot wait until the season starts. The Port Power group have been fantastic, and this was only the first time we meet them.Thanks heaps.
