Pretty horrible game to watch from an Eagles perspective. I'm not an East Perth fan but watching the game with more Eagles eyes in the last half was depressing. Heaven help us if we have further long term injuries.

Spotted Simmo going to the fence near 3/4 time after Lamb got dragged and definitely looked like he wanted to give Tom a spray but decided against it. Not sure if Simmo went to the huddle at 3/4 time or if he stayed away but he'd be worried with what he saw after 1/4 time no doubt.

Jetta won the ball but there wasn't enough carry with the ball for my liking. I wanted to see him hitting around the ground stoppages and throw ins ups pace and run but it never happened much. Was flat footed.

Lamb was really disappointing. Doesn't work hard enough on and off the ball. The amount of times an East Perth team mate had the footy and he offered nothing in terms of a lead or getting into space was worrying.

No urgency from the Royals.

Not sure what was more embarrassing, the performance from the West Coast players or the display at quarter time by the head coach towards the umpires.

When the players know there will be no fall out from poor performances they just don't care or fight. It's like an Auskick team. Lamb is a waste, Venables didn't want to be there, maybe they were objectors to the game being played on Good Friday and went on strike? Most of the others do the minimum each week to make sure they don't get dropped (15-20 touches).

Only Jetta, Mackenzie, Hutchings, Brophy and Sheed can walk into Subiaco tomorrow with their heads up.

From what I can gather our seconds are pretty damn poor and the development is not good. Is this a drafting issue or an EP alignment issue? Freo did okay with some of their younger guys coming last week and beating the dogs... dare say if we brought in 4 or 5 of these guys we wouldn't be looking at the same output.

Today may have been an eye-opener for Simmo. I bet there are a few meetings over the next few days to get to the bottom of what is happening at East PERTH.

Purely from an Eagles perspective Geez I hope so. This can't continue. This has much bigger ramifications than the immediate issue of how this is impacting the development of our list. The players talk, the managers talk. We are going to get a pretty shitty reputation for how we develop our second tier and the sort of opportunities they have to perform to press their claims. Seriously, who'd want to come to us if they're watching the shitshow that is East Perth and the way the players are being developed?

Think it's an East Perth issue issue as well. They lost a big chunk of experience in the off season and didn't really get much in return apart from Eagles players.

Can't remember all the names of the EP players that left but know for certain that Paul Johnson was in there, Mitch Brown's delisting would of hurt them, Brendan Lee not returning to the WAFL, Garry Moss retiring etc.

chaddy22 how's Blanch and Di Placido been going? Dipper is a great cricketer as well and I was disappointed when he stopped playing cricket a few years ago to concentrate on footy...
I can't comment as I don't usually get down early enough to see much of the ressies.Today being a late arvo match I thought i'd catch the last quarter and was wanting to see Allen and Cole.apparently Cole played first and third quarter and Allen second and last quarter.I noticed allen a few times but I think he might have some more work in the gym to do.i would assume both are a couple of weeks away from playing league.

I just don't think EP has had a head coach (or is it the support staff) to develop our players, for I have stated previously our younger guys have just stagnated in their development. Something is wrong, but it can't just be the alignment as Peel managed to win the WAFL GF last year. Maybe it's because EP as an organisation that has never really embraced the alignment, which in turn has caused a disruptive feeling amongst the players - in other words 2 camps - the WCE players in one camp and the players who are genuine EP players in the other? Just a thought but of course really have no idea!

Ooh, explain?

Did he tell them they needed to wake up?
Stormed out on the ground to confront the umpires then tried telling a two umpiring officials how to do their job. They just laughed at him when he walked away.

I doubt it, he has been at games and seen it all before. He controls who plays and who gets dropped at East Perth. Tom Lamb spat the dummy two years ago when he had to play WAFL reserves after coming back from injury and he has been too gutless to drop him back since then dispite countless piss poor games. Kept goal less 16 times out of 35 games as a full forward, 20 games with 15 disposals or less.

Good info thanks. What I mean is it an alignment _with_ EP issue, rather than an alignment issue generally.

throne89's post above might explain a few things.

I don't recall there being major issues under Brain Dawson's coaching but since he moved on they've used West Coast club development coaches to head coach East Perth, no idea why apart from personal development.

Not sure why they bothered with promoting Jaymie Graham to the senior side in the knowledge he'd lose the EP job either.

Luke Webster doesn't seem the right man for the job
