I dont necessarily agree with that Barney, theres been guys playing well at times such as Adamson, Karpany & Nelson last year and Watson this year but we always get the same bullshit from West Coast about how their not ready etc etc ( yes i know theyre rookies but spots were able to be used). Meanwhile the same guys can cruise around in the WC side and not get dropped, hence our current atmosphere of laziness that permeates the Eagles.
Think you are over valuing Adamson, Karpany, Nelson and Watson. Nelson has been steady at WAFL level, the others have never demanded an AFL call up. WAFL form tends to get exaggerated on these forums. Even Watson this year, he has been promising but the mistakes he currently makes would make him a massive liability at AFL level.

I have to agree. The fact that some were calling for Lamb to play Afl recently Is laughable. The last two games when he needed to step up he was awful. After a 15 goal thrashing is he a protected species. At least Bennell got dropped last year.

Correct Sheed does struggle with a tag, mostly due to his lack of pace.At the AfL level he will always be the 4 th midfielder so he won't warrant a tag. When compared to most AFL midfielders his lack of size speed and possession impact will always see him being a fringe player at best.
Another example of the old boys club not taking risks...

I think the ones calling for Lamb to be called up dont follow wafl at all. I think he should be dropped to reserves

What also is laughable is all the eagles supporters who want certain players to be dropped back to East Perth in the last month.Hill,Wellingham,Darling,Cripps,Vardy,Masten.You would think the eagles hadn't won a game and were on the bottom the ladder. The only players pushing for selection are the usual supects and only if injury beckons.Sheed,Hutchings,Jetta,Mckenzie and the worrying one is Mcinnes.Maybe he comes in should another ruckman comes down with injury.Nobody else at the moment deserves a game.Venables showed on Friday he still needs some time at wafl level and Tom Cole will need several games and be in form before he is even considered.

The Club needs to hire the best development coach that is available here in the West. Maybe they have tried but came up with zilch!! Won't be easy to rectify.
Here in the west, is the problem. Pinch whoever is deemed the best from whatever club and city they're at right now. Make an offer they can't refuse.

If you actually look at the performances Neilson had one very good game as a midfielder, the rest of his season was average

Totally disagree the Eagles continue to promote a certain few, there were players last year who put multiple good games together that warranted an opportunity.

Allen not in and Maginness is full forward? He is handy around goals but surely he is no lead up target. Interesting.

Good to see Venables retain his spot and Cole in. Interesting but I guess not surprising, that Jetta didn't even make the extended bench after 36 disposals. I didn't watch the game but clearly he didn't improve upon what he was asked to.

Conflicted this week. Want the Eagles players to play well but carn the dees

Mcinnes is full forward. The F stands for followers a quaint word for ruck and midfielders or for us oldies ruck, ruck rover, rover. We don't use the term centreman anymore and very rarely wingman.

Whoops. Nah I knew all that just read it wrong and didn't double check before I posted. Thanks though.
