Their forward 50 delivery was magnificent East Perth. Swans pressure in the 3rd was great but they started to stop a bit and umpiring was terrible.
Notte looked really good, the pressure of AFL/expectations of him now gone - has that helped him improve?

He was the focal point up forward, Hansen was missing, I think that's what helped him show what he can do. If you get my drift.

Weedon as a colts player was a very polished midfielder, just didnt have a tank to match.

Weedon has all the attributes to be a handy midfielder, as I said a very strong core which gives him an extra second in the tackle, though I still think he is most damaging forward of the play.

I thought Broome and Weedon ran to the same spots today which is a positive because they were the right spots, today it was Broomes day.

Weedon will be snaring bags soon enough.
You genuinely think Broome is too small to play AFL? I agree it's going to be an uphill battle for him, but I think with a couple of years in the gym he might be able to stack on enough muscle to compete at the top level. After all his current problem is mainly how skinny and light he is. Certainly has the ability:thumbsu:

Better players from Swans were Spaanders, Pearce, Jetta, Notte.

I'd add Wolfy as well. I'm not a big fan but his finishing was much improved from last year and was really good IMO.

Jetta was electric!

Nottey did pretty well despite uncharacteristically dropping a few marks. I guess the real positive is that even if he is relegated to third tall when Hansen returns, we've had all pre-season to work out structures since Ash is now with Swans and not just rocking up on game day. Wait and see.

Spaanders was a man mountain as usual. Very good game from him. However, we do need a Lammie or Adams to be able to support him better, otherwise late season he is knackered.

Don't think our defence operated too well today. Obviously losing Pratt, Richo, Spencer, Twomey and Casserly, and Clancee playing forward was going to have an effect. They will gel in time.

Alex Howard showed a bit (although I was calling him Richo all day until corrected ) - the resemblance in looks and playing style (and both being #32) is uncanny!

Yep, Wolfy was very good and like EP's Wulffy, has a huge heart.

Yep, defence was ordinary at times but your point is taken and Clancee looked quite good forward. Hopefully time will cause them to gel and we probably should have lost by more with the Royals having the better of the play. So I won't slash my wrists just yet, maybe after next week. :p

I did exactly the same with Howard. My son was asking, who is Alex Howard? I said I don't have a clue, that's Richardson. He showed me the Record and said it says Howard, there's no Richardson.
