www.waflfootyfacts.net update

I have cleaned up some more typos and corrected a couple of error.

Also have made the score boxes stand out a bit more on the venues page. Should have similar information for the teams as I have in the venues sections by the weekend.

Also round 2 predictions are up.

Cheers All

Thanks guys. It just seemed a bit odd to me that the WAFL was about to have round 3, while the AFL was only half way through round 1, and the SANFL only started this weekend.

Comperehensive review of round 4 up on the site.
Lots of streaks broken this round including the Sharks droughtbreaking run against Subiaco at home and Perths winless streak against Swans at Bassendean both coming to an end.

That link is missing the html tag at the end. The link two posts above still works though.

Love your work!

Hi all
Update:
New 2013 season scores and results section added with [see more] links added to each game to access the game reciew. This page is accessible from the Seasons button and by clicking on 2013, or directly on this link http://waflfootyfacts.net/Seasons/2013/scores.html
The game reviews are still available on the home page by clicking the round link. I think I have made the reviews much more indepth and easier to follow. Here's a link to round 4's review: http://waflfootyfacts.net/Seasons/2013/rnd_4_review.html
The team links now link to a new team index page which will include more detailed team review. i have plenty of placeholders to complete the data on these pages. Game Records for Claremont, East Frem, East Perth, Peel and Perth have been added, the others to be added shortly. The old Team pages can currently still be accessed from the new Team button on the home page. Here's Claremonts new page for example http://waflfootyfacts.net/Teams/Claremont/Claremont_idx.html
Thanks for your interest, love some more feedback - good or bad...
Cheers

I have just read that Dennis Cometti kicked over 60 goals for West Perth in 1968, but the leading goalkicker for the club that season was Stephen Smeath with 63. Does this mean Cometti must have finished only 1 or 2 behind Smeath? Did Dennis kick any huge hauls?

Hi worbod - that's correct. Here's Cometti's round by round rundown

Cardy - the predictions for last week from my softeare would've only got you the Claremomt v West Perth game.

How many games did the great one play and how many goals did he kick in his career?

Not sure on games played at the moment.

As for goals, I've only got Dennis down for another 7 goals in his career. Fair to say 1968 was his absolute peak.

1967 - 4.9
1968 - 63.45
1969 - 1.0
1971 - 2.0

(Cometti spent 1970 in Melbourne playing reserves for Footscray).

Is that all?

Geez.

Thought he would've killed it

But then I suppose, certain stats only go back to a certain year.

But then I suppose, certain stats only go back to a certain year.

I've got one of his books and basically he admitted that his head wasn't in the game. He was really young when he started (he debuted at 17 or 18), but his media career was taking off and he chose that path instead.

Part of the reason he agree to coach West Perth (1982-84) was that he felt as though he owed the club based on not giving enough as a player.

But then I suppose, certain stats only go back to a certain year.

Sorry, missed this yesterday. I've got goalscorers for each match back to 1928 at the moment, so unless I've got him down under a different name (which I don't think I do), that's all he got.

Starting from 1983 (and continuing until 1986), The Sunday Times published match stats of all WAFL matches.

Having just finished entering in all the 1983 data (minus Round 10, which all took place on the Sunday and Monday of a long weekend), here's a couple of stats to get things started.

Most disposals in a game

YEAR | ROUND | TEAM | NAME | DISPOSALS | OPPONENT | W/L
\1983|20|C|MALAXOS, Stephen|46|P|W
\1983|6|EP|THORNE, Peter|45|S|W
\1983|17|C|BLACKWELL, Wayne|45|EP|W
\1983|18|C|MALAXOS, Stephen|45|S|W
\1983|19|C|MALAXOS, Stephen|45|WP|W
\1983|21|SD|NEESHAM, Gerard|43|P|W
\1983|21|P|SHEPHERD, Cam|43|SD|L
\1983|12|P|O'CONNELL, Peter|42|EF|L
\1983|19|C|BLACKWELL, Wayne|42|WP|W
\1983|21|C|MALAXOS, Stephen|42|SF|W

The stats don't give tackle numbers, but since they give everything else - here's what the top Dreamteam scores of 1983 would've looked like:

YEAR | RD | TEAM | NAME | D | K | M | HB | HO | FF | FA | G | B | DT | OPP | W/L
\1983|18|C|RALPH, Warren|25|23|19|2|0|0|1|16|2| 225 |S|W
\1983|19|C|MALAXOS, Stephen|45|31|13|14|0|2|0|3|2| 182 |WP|W
\1983|20|EP|EDWARDS, Craig|27|23|18|4|0|1|3|8|3| 174 |S|W
\1983|6|SF|HARDIE, Brad|36|28|12|8|0|2|2|5|4| 166 |SD|W
\1983|12|P|O'CONNELL, Peter|42|26|9|16|0|6|1|4|2| 166 |EF|L
\1983|11|SD|BAKER, Leon|39|31|10|8|0|2|0|3|2| 161 |EF|W
\1983|6|EP|THORNE, Peter|45|33|13|12|0|2|8|3|1| 159 |S|W
\1983|18|C|MALAXOS, Stephen|45|28|8|17|0|0|0|2|2| 156 |S|W
\1983|13|C|BLACKWELL, Wayne|35|23|14|12|0|2|0|2|2| 151 |P|W
\1983|19|EF|CASSIDY, Jeff|29|23|7|6|0|6|2|7|7| 151 |P|W
