Round 18 produced another excellent telecast game with the South Fremantle vs West Perth match going down to the wire. Our tipping group were somewhat split on who to tip in a couple of games and those matches helped shape the results this week with a number of tipsters tipping all three games correct for the round. The bonus point this week was shared between andana and hansie with both selecting a winning margin of six points which was one point away from South Fremantle's actual winning margin of five points.

After 18 rounds, gaskin has moved into the outright lead on 53 points, RickSanchez is now in second position on 52 points while masai and Monocle are now tied for third with 51 points.

Round 19 Fixtures

Perth vs Claremont at Lathlain Park (2:15pm, margin)
West Perth vs Subiaco at Joondalup Arena (2:15pm)
East Perth vs East Fremantle at Leederville Oval (2:15pm)
Swan Districts vs South Fremantle at Steel Blue Oval (2:15pm)
Bye: Peel Thunder

Round 18 is behind us and we now move onto Round 19 with a full compliment of games this week, all on Saturday starting at 2:15pm. West Perth head home to face Subiaco in a big clash up at Joondalup. The Falcons came up short against the Bulldogs last week and must win to keep their chances of hosting a qualifying final in tact. The Lions got the job done against Swans last week at a wet and rather muddy Leederville Oval and will be looking to keep their form going against the Falcons. East Perth host East Fremantle in a fairly important game for the Royals who find themselves outside the top five again after losing to Peel Thunder last week. A win could see the Royals inside the five at the end of the round and this match serves as a must win game with their tricky run home in the final couple of games. The Sharks meanwhile are playing for pride and will be looking to spoil the Royals' finals aspirations. Swan Districts take on South Fremantle in a clash where both teams have much at stake. Swans simply must win to keep their finals hopes alive while a win for Souths would see them grab the upper hand in the battle for a home qualifying final during the first week of the finals series. Unfortunately there is no TV game this week so I've selected Perth vs Claremont as the margin match for Round 19 with this game to be quite pivotal in the battle for a top five spot at the end of the season. The Demons have shown some excellent form over the past couple of months and a win could see them get very close to a finals berth come the end of the round. Claremont meanwhile have had some reasonable form of their own of late and victory for the Tigers will keep them in the finals race and maybe even see themselves inside the top five at the end of the round.

There are no changes in the other grades this week with all Colts and Reserves matches to begin at 9am and 11:30am respectively.

After some ordinary weather over the past few weekends, this Saturday is set to be good one for footy with a mostly sunny day and 17 degrees expected at this stage. It will be a cold night though with just three degrees predicted overnight so you'll need some warm clothes if you're at the grounds early on Saturday!

Well we're really at the business end of the season now and this week promises to be another big one with several clubs having a lot to play for as teams starting positioning themselves to secure a finals berth. Each game has plenty on the line so hopefully we'll see four great games of football this week with the weather set to be pretty good on Saturday. Happy tipping!!
