Round 15 Fixtures

East Fremantle vs Peel Thunder at New Choice Homes Park (2:15pm)
West Perth vs East Perth at HBF Arena (2:40pm, margin)
Bye: Claremont, Perth, South Fremantle, Subiaco, Swan Districts, West Coast Eagles

Round 14 is behind us and we now move on to Round 15 which is the first part of the second lot of the bye rounds with just the two matches this week, both of Saturday afternoon. East Fremantle host Peel Thunder at New Choice Homes Park to open Round 15 in what is a big clash for both clubs. East Fremantle kept their season going last week after defeating Swan Districts while Peel Thunder suffered a shock loss to East Perth in the previous round to slip to seventh position on the ladder. The Sharks simply need to keep winning to stay in finals contention and will fancy their chances against a Peel Thunder side that has dropped their last two games and who have lost a few players to AFL duties in recent weeks as part of their alignment with Fremantle. The Thunder also need to win to stay in the finals hunt and could push their way back into the top five if they win and the other match result falls in their favour. There's a lot to play for in this one and both teams will be up for the fight on Saturday afternoon.

The other match this week, which is also the TV game sees us head to HBF Arena in Joondalup for the traditional Perth derby between West Perth and East Perth. Both sides had contrasting fortunes in Round 14 with West Perth copping a hammering from the West Coast Eagles while East Perth scored an upset win over Peel Thunder to keep their finals hopes alive. The previous match between the two clubs was a tight affair on Western Australia Day with East Perth scoring a narrow win and they'll be hoping they can do that again with their improved form over the past fortnight and West Perth having dropped two of the past three matches. The Falcons fell out of the five after their loss to the Eagles on Sunday but a win would push them back into the five come the end of the round. The telecast of this match gets underway at 2:30pm on Channel Seven with bouncedown scheduled for 2:40pm.

It's a pretty standard affair in the Colts and Reserves this week. The Colts and Reserves' games in the East Fremantle vs Peel Thunder fixture are at their usual times of 9am and 11:30am this week. For the Perth derby fixture, each match begin 25 minutes later with the Colts at 9:25am and the Reserves at 11:55am.

After such a good weekend of weather, this weekend isn't looking too flash. Saturday should see showers with most of them in the morning and a chance of some small hail accompanied by gusty winds also possible during the morning. The day is forecast to have a maximum of 17 degrees with 2-4 mm of rain predicted at this stage.

So the first part of the second lot of bye rounds is here with just two matches but two really big games in the context of the season with a lot riding on the result of either match. Hopefully the weather has cleared by the afternoon and we can see two tight and high quality matches. Happy tipping!!
