Round 20 produced a couple of good games on Saturday, Peel Thunder and Perth were neck and neck all day before the Thunder managed to hold on while West Perth charged home against South Fremantle but came up just short in the end. Quite a few tipsters scored four points this week but Westozbb continued his late season form to tip a perfect round this week in collecting five points. The bonus point for Round 20 went to hansie with his margin of 12 points being closest to South Fremantle's winning margin of four points.

With Round 20 complete that brings us to the end of the BigFooty WAFL Tipping Competition for 2019 and our winner this year is Miguel Sanchez. Aside from a few rounds earlier in the year, Miguel Sanchez has lead the competition for most of the season and has finished on 65 points in what has been a great effort. Congratulations to Miguel Sanchez on winning the 2019 BigFooty WAFL Tipping Competition and as this year's winner, Miguel receives a one year Platinum subscription to BigFooty. All this thanks to Chief and the team here at BigFooty.

Tied for second this season are Kram and Monocle on 63 points each. As the joint second place winners, both Kram and Monocle will receive a year's Gold subscription to BigFooty. Well done guys.

Well that concludes the BigFooty WAFL Tipping Competition for 2019. Thanks to everyone who participated this season, 2019 was one of the closest seasons we've had and I hope you all have enjoyed being part of the competition again this year. Thanks again to Chief and the team here at BigFooty for their ongoing support of the competition and also for contributing an extra prize this year. BigFooty's support of the competition over the past few years has been fantastic and to have their backing again this year has been superb so a special thanks once again to the team here. While the home and away season has finished, the finals begin this weekend and I'll be running a finals tipping competition just for fun over the duration of the finals series with the opening post for this to go up on Wednesday or Thursday evening. After such a great season this year, hopefully we'll be back with a bigger and better tipping competition for the WAFL in 2020. Don't forget to also stick around in the off-season for all of your off-season news, player movements, pre-season information and other club news from around the WAFL as we head into the summer months after the season has finished.

Cheers! :thumbsu:

The home and away rounds have come to an end and it is now time for the finals with the Qualifying and Elimination finals to take place in week one of the finals series. As is tradition for the WAFL tipping competition, we tip for all three grades across the finals series. Both League matches are being telecast this weekend on Channel Seven which leaves a maximum of eight points up for grabs this week.

The League finals are shaping up to be huge with two very good games set to take place over the weekend. The first of those is the Qualifying Final between South Fremantle and Claremont on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Community Bank Oval. South Fremantle enter the game with good form having turned their season around in the latter stages after a slump in the middle part of the season which saw the Bulldogs lose four straight games, leaving them a game and percentage adrift of second place. The Doggies fought back hard though, winning five consecutive matches, including a strong win over the team fighting with them for second place in Claremont to snatch second place on the ladder and earn themselves a home qualifying final, something which they will want to use to their advantage on Saturday. Claremont meanwhile have had a good season and have spent most of the year in the top three on the ladder. The Tigers sat second with a few games to play but a couple of losses saw them fall behind South Fremantle and eventually earned them third place at the completion of the home and away rounds. Both clubs have one win against each other this season and can take positives from those wins into this game which is sure to be one of the matches of the season. This match will be telecast from 2:30pm on Channel Seven with bouncedown scheduled for 2:40pm.

On Sunday, we head to Joondalup Arena where West Coast Eagles will play West Perth in the Elimination Final with the Eagles having to play the game at Joondalup as per the WAFL's rules around AFL Reserves/aligned clubs. There were some nervous moments for both sides on the weekend with finals not assured for either side over the last round. West Perth had to wait until after Perth's match finished to learn of their qualification for the 2019 finals series while West Coast Eagles had to beat East Fremantle to make it also. The Eagles have done pretty well to make the finals having sat on the bottom of the ladder with a 2-6 record towards the middle of the season. With some players returning from injury and some good performances by a number of players saw the Reserves' outfit climb up the ladder to finish the home and away rounds in fourth place. West Perth also didn't have a great start, beginning the season 0-4 before a form revival saw the Falcons push into the top five around the midway point of the year, a position where they stayed for the majority of the season. A last round loss saw a few nervous moments but the Falcons did enough to finish fifth and play finals this season. Both matches between these two sides were rather one-sided with West Perth winning the first encounter between the two clubs by six goals while the Eagles claimed a strong 69 point win in Round 14. Both clubs have played good football at times this season so it looking like we've got another good game here. The telecast of this match on Sunday begins at 2:30pm with bouncedown to be at 2:40pm.

In the Reserves, West Perth and Subiaco will do battle in the Qualifying Final at Joondalup Arena on Sunday at 11:50am. Both clubs have spent the majority of the season inside the top five and will be out for victory here to earn a spot in the second semi final next week. The Elimination Final has East Fremantle taking on East Perth on Saturday at Fremantle Community Bank Oval with the match to get underway at 11:50am.

In the Colts, Claremont will take on West Perth at Joondalup Arena in the Qualifying Final on Sunday at 9:15am. This is the first of three games at the Arena on Sunday with West Perth to feature in all of the matches at the ground. On Saturday, Swan Districts face off against East Perth in the Elimination Final at Fremantle Community Bank Oval, starting at 9:15am.

After some great weather in the past few days, the weekend is not looking good from a weather point of view. Saturday is expected to be wet with showers expected, a possible early storm may also make an appearance with a maximum of 20 degrees predicted. At this stage, the showers will mostly be in the morning so the afternoon might be okay. Sunday is looking worse with showers expected again during the morning and afternoon with a maximum of 20 degrees as well. Definitely a weekend for wet weather gear if you're at the footy this week.

Well the finals are here with some really good games on the horizon. Hopefully there is not too much weather around over the weekend and we can see each side showcase their skills and talent in the first week of the finals. Happy tipping!!
