Round 10 saw two games played as the first of the bye rounds and quite remarkably, all tipsters selected both Claremont and South Fremantle to win. With Souths losing in an upset, everyone scored one point with the bonus point going to samFFC this week being closest to the margin.

With 10 rounds complete, samFFC now finds himself in the outright lead on 35 points, gaskin is now outright second on 34 points while there's a threeway tie on 33 points between Falconista, RickSanchez and Westozbb.

Round 11 Fixtures

Subiaco vs West Coast Eagles at Leederville Oval (2:10pm)
Swan Districts vs West Perth at Steel Blue Oval (2:10pm)
Perth vs East Fremantle at Mineral Resources Park (3:10pm, margin)
Bye: Claremont, East Perth, Peel Thunder, South Fremantle

Round 11 is the second of the bye rounds with three games this week, two being the traditional Saturday afternoon fixture while the other is a twilight match. The round begins with Subiaco hosting West Coast Eagles at Leederville Oval. Subiaco enter this game with some decent form, having won seven of the eight matches they've played thus far. The Lions' last outing was a Thursday Night game against Perth which they won by 98 points keeping Perth goalless until the 16 and a half minute mark of the last term. With the Eagles expected to regain a number of players in the coming rounds, their WAFL outfit should also regain players too and may potentially prove to be a tricky prospect at WAFL level in the second half of the season. The Eagles will also be searching for their first win so expect some fireworks here with both sides coming off their bye.

Next up sees Swan Districts taking on West Perth at Steel Blue Oval in the second afternoon match on Saturday. Swan Districts come into this game on a two match winning streak and could count themselves a bit lucky after knocking off Peel Thunder in their Round Nine meeting with the Thunder dominant in most facets of the game except the one that counts, the scoreboard. Nonetheless, Swan Districts did enough to take victory and have played some good footy at times in 2021 seeing themselves a game and percentage clear inside the top five. Their opponent in West Perth has had a bit of a rollercoaster ride so far in season 2021 dropping games early in the second but the Falcons have won three of the last four games which pushed into fifth position before the first of the bye rounds last week. Both teams look fairly well matched in this one and I expect this to be a good contest which presents an opportunity to build a buffer inside the top five.

The final match of Round 11 which is the TV game this week and therefore our margin game is the fixture between Perth and East Fremantle at Mineral Resources Park. Perth had a shocker in their last encounter, losing by 98 points to Subiaco in a primetime Thursday Night fixture but also kicking just one goal for the game which came midway through the last term. The Demons will regain several key players this week back from injury so will be looking to bounce back in front of their home crowd. East Fremantle come into this game sitting in eighth place having lost their last match to arch rival South Fremantle in the Round Nine derby. The Sharks have had some okay form this season and would fancy their chances against a Perth outfit who have not had much luck with injuries this season so expect this game to be a close fought contest. The coverage of this game starts at 3pm on Channel Seven with bouncedown set for 3:10pm.

It's a fairly easy week in the Colts and Reserves with just two fixtures this weekend. The Reserves and Colts matches for the Swan Districts vs West Perth matches get underway at 9:10am and 11:40am respectively while the start times for the Perth vs East Fremantle matches are an hour later at 10:10am and 12:40pm.

The weather for Saturday is looking pretty good with a mostly sunny day expected and a maximum of 19 degrees. There is a slight chance of a shower in the southwest late in the evening but that's unlikely to affect any of the matches on Saturday.

Well, we're just about halfway through the home and season and into the second of the bye rounds this week. There's some interesting matches on Saturday in more ways than one so it's looking as if we might get a good round of games this week. Happy tipping!!
