WAFL vs SANFL State Game

Another fantastic win by the WA boys in knocking over SA yesterday at the Adelaide Oval by 26 points.
That was our 6th successive win in a State match and from memory 9 of our last 10.
WA have beaten easily the SANFL & VFL both home and away and flogged the NEAFL & TFL in the last 6 years.

Hey Spearhead, do you know when the SANFL vs WAFL state match will be in 2019? And am I right in hearing it will be at the new Optus Stadium? (perhaps a curtain raiser to an AFL game like the 2018 match at Adelaide Oval was)

Fixtures wont be out until December but will be in WA and more than likely like the SA fixture this year played as an AFL curtain raiser at Perth Stadium.

Any news around the SA vs WA annual country footy match that is due to be played in the West next year?

Hey Separhead. The 2019 SANFL fixture says that the annual state game vs WAFL is to be played on Sunday 12 May. Is this likely to be a curtain raiser to the Freo v Richmond game at Optus Stadium? Looks like a great place to watch / play footy at!

I believe so aj but we will have to wait from the WAFC for confirmation.

I really hope that the WAFL see the light and play this at a suburban ground.

I´ve it will be a curtain raiser for an AFL game at Optus, which is a shame.

Would like to see it as a stand alone at Bassandean or Claremont.
