Hams is an out and out SUPERSTAR in the waiting.

But seriously he is a bit unlucky this season that he will only get a game due to injury after the season he had last year.

I think if Hill goes out of form and Nicoski struggles to get a game i would say Hams gets a go. I do not mind Hams and thought he stood up a little last year when we had a lot of injuries up front.

Well, good round of WAFL footy tomorrow, with East Freo boasting a few Eagles players, Morton turning out for EP, with Wilson. Butler, McInnes and Smith turning out for the Demons, McGovern for Claremont (when was the last time they only had Eagles listed player in their side?) and Carter for Sowfs.

No Newman for Swans? They were hoping he'd be able to play but if he's not named it means he hasn't run his required 2km time.

Sorry harry, he's on the bench. I'm still reeling from learning Jacky and Motlop have departed Swans to Peel. Goodness gracious, I have not kept up with any news the past 6 months. :(

Comparing a medium marking forward to a genuine small forward/ midfielder. They are inherently different players who add very different things to our forward dynamic.

Alister Smith.

Edit: that's Mitch Carter for Souths.

So I take it Newman has run the required 2km?

A little surprised we haven't heard anything about this...would have made a nice little article.

Harding said Newman was still battling to better a target of 7:05 set by West Coast before he could be considered for a WAFL game.
"He ran it last Monday and missed it by about 12sec. and then ran it again on Friday and missed it by more," Harding said.
"7:05 is not quick and for a kid of that talent and that quality and he has got an endurance tank.
"He'll be able to run that easily, he just has to mentally prepare himself to do it and then go and run it. Hopefully we have him against East Fremantle this week."

Good on him for that effort though, running a 7:17 is alot better than the 8:13 from November. Hope he cracks it soon.

Id love to know what he ran in the 2012 preseason.

It would be good, everything is always better in context.

That same article says this too:

Garlett, touted as a top-10 draft pick on talent, was overlooked in last year's AFL national, rookie and pre-season drafts amid concerns over his lifestyle.
Despite pledging to "knuckle down" in a December interview with _The Weekend West, _ Garlett arrived at Swan Districts for training last month a long way off the club's fitness standards.

Doesn't look great when your friend cops a hiding in November for being out of shape, then you rock up to training in Feb and aren't up to standard.

The list of blokes lining up this weekend is interesting reading. But i think the list of rested players makes more interesting ready. I'd say Morton and Dalziell wont be playing against Freo now

Cripps, Sheppard, Hutchings, Butler, Ash Smith, Hams are all being rested from WAFL duties. Suggesting they are all in the mix for next weekend

Anyone got more info on Brad Dick? The one Sharks pre season game i saw he wasnt playing and not in the team for today? Haven t heard of any injury concerns with him
