Waterman had a poor 5 minute patch towards the end of that quarter. Couple of dropped marks and a handball that turned it over midfield. Wasn't happy with himself when he came to the bench. Was blowing pretty hard so is still building his tank

Having 4 kids to look after today, i didn't exactly get to watch the flow of the midfield battle, other than to say that east perth stopped like they'd been hit by a truck

I tried to follow Lycett and Barrass

Lycett is just such a tease. For a bloke his size he is so weak about his head and so strong below his knees. He was dropped because he wasn't competing (and I assume against the big guys) - and if that is the case I just don't see how he gets back in. He need to want to get body contact in marking contests - Fev should teach him how to mark with his knee up and look to hurt blokes - both friend and foe.

Barrass was outpointed a lot in the first half. His skills below his knees were good but he isn't strong enough one on one and tries to give the forward some room so he can make a run and jump at it. When he reads the flight it works well, but it can make him look silly. It is something that would get exposed in the AFL at the moment. However skills to work with

What the hell happened? Were they short handed or just completely choke it in the last?!
Few things :

Wulff got a knock in the 3rd quarter which forced him off the ground with the blood rule. It must have been quite heavy as the doctor wouldn't let him back on (concussion I'm assuming) even though Wulff wanted to play still - was a reasonably heated argument on the bench in the front of me with player claiming he was good to go and doctor refusing to let him. He was clearly unhappy about it

West perth got a couple of goals late in the third against the flow of play that brought them to 4 goals down and within reach. They started the last well and kicked the first two and were dropping off - Clutterbuck was on the bench imploring his team mates to lift which they didn't obviously. I was disappointed that no Eagles players were driving this or doing anything to stand up at the time.

Brophy conceded a soft (bullshit) free for holding just outside the goal square well away from the contest (ball was about to be balled up outside 50 so player had nothing to lead to anyway). After that charity goal there was a bit of puss hand shove (as I now call it) that the umpire believed warranted gifting a second goal without the ball going back to the centre. With that scores were suddenly level. Heads dropped and West Perth ran over the top of a disjointed/leaderless East Perth

East Perth rolled over easier than a two dollar hooker

I will say that West Perth were the better side over 4 quarters. East Perth did well in the 2nd and 3rd but the Falcons dominated play in the 1st and 4th - got reward for it in the 4th but not the 1st as they should have really been 3 or 4 goals up at 1/4 time rather than 3 points

Not sure about that last bit. Colledge does not like this
