I'd swap Newman and Karpany at the end of the season in terms of demotion and promotion to the rookie list.

It's labelled as a poor draft this year, would rather retain Karpany and put him on an incentive based deal than go the unknown.
I don't even see the value of Karpany as a rookie listed player at this stage. Let's give somebody a chance who actually has some hunger.

He's had a death in the family this year which might still be screwing with his head. I'd be willing to give him a one year deal on the rookie list to see if he will respond otherwise cut our losses the following year.

Bloody Ross Lyon dropping Xac Clarke for this game. Peel were the land of the giants in their forward line - at one stage they had Clarke, Hannath and Griffen in there. I didn't count them all, but I think two thirds at least of the Peel team were FD.
Lucas played his best game so far, Bennell was classy, Karpany was extremely quiet, Brophy still learning, does some dumb things, Powell meh,Newman was good, Colledge wasn't a standout, didn't really notice him much at all, Rosa great to see him back, won't be long out of the Eagles, Hutch was very good, tough as nails.

Yes
You can't just arbitrarily say that though, some people are back at work the next day, some never get over it.
He needs to get over it in the reserves . Yes their is a time to mourn and a time to move on . He better get moving or he will be movin back to SA end of year. He looks so pathetic it was embarrasing

I'm sorry but how is it at all relevant he is indigenous....
May be you are correct, may be it is not relevant. However, as Kane249 also said above, most of them have close knit families and some (not all) initially struggle to adjust to the AFL environment away from their home state. So if there is a family tragedy on top of all this, does it not make their transition to AFL even harder?

People aren't robots, some deal with it better than others.

Dion Woods is a classic example of this, he was very close to his dad and when he passed away he was never the same player. Showed some good promise for Freo before it happens, but after he turned to alcohol to cope with his loss and things spiraled from there.
