I remember that draft. My read was that we had 22 tabbed for Bastinac and 23 for Weedon, so when North took Bastinac that sent us into a bit of spin and we spent the full allocated time before strategically gaining more time by drafting Weedon 22 and then using the full time for pick 23 before taking Stevens. 5-10 mins of brain storming there, would be curious who the other option were.

I'd say Aaron Black, Travis Colyer and Mitch Duncan would've been on the list somewhere near there. I'd have hoped we'd looked at Callum Bartlett too (looked an elite prospect, dodgy knees, hasn't played a game for Brisbane yet).

All three though were inferior to Koby Stevens as prospects at the time.

If we had of gotten the 2007 draft spot on we may have won more games and not been able to pick up Naita, Shuey, Gaff, Sheppard or Darling.

Also.. if we won 2005 we may of been less hungry then Sydney the year after and they would of won 2006 instead...

So, the East Freo and West Perth game is televised today.

Great chance to see Masten, Stevens, Sheppard, Houlihan, and Brennan playing the top WAFL side. Especially if you're interested to see how Masten responds.

The only downside is that you have to miss some of the Carlton V Freo game, which is somewhat important for us, ladder wise, while being potentially fun if you like watching Fremantle suffer.
