I imagine the surgery part is actually true, its just not what kept him out of the game and that he was effectively dropped. You have to do white lies like that or its a fine. Stupid really, what other major professional sport are you not allowed to make changes in for any reason you wish up until, What? Half an hour before the game?

This is what happens when you give too much power to betting agencies.

Peel play Sharks at East Freo next weekend. Should be a number of freo listed players on the park ( Sheridan, Moller, Crichton, Michie, Forster, Taberner, Faulks, Smith, Duffy, Simpson and maybe Howson will crack a game in the firsts).

Who is heading down?

Lets hope Simpson has a blinder and Peel win ;)

Clandestine may refer to:
  • Secrecy, the practice of hiding information from certain individuals or groups, perhaps while sharing it with other individuals
I think clandestine is an acceptable description.
Re Silvagni, didn't Lyon imply that he may have been looking at major surgery? The reality is that if we can get Adelaide to play an extra tall when the game is going to suit smalls, then why wouldn't you?

Don't be surprised by that part. Pav played the first three rounds of this year whilst needing surgery.

And it wouldn't surprise me to hear that Silvagni ruled himself out. Griff did it last year remember. Playing injured is not the way to save your career.

It is also detrimental to the team. People may say it shows character and toughness playing injured but to me it is selfish and stupid.

I always think of the decision to play Haselby in that Adelaide final in 2006. That and lack of local knowledge with the wind cost us dearly in that game.

Can somebody explain why the Foundation Day Derby (WA Day Derby) was not played on Foundation Day. Good result though.

Clash with the AFL perhaps? Booooo!!!!!

Did Silvagni play for Claremont? If so, how did he play?

WAFL Stats (WAFL.com):
Relatively quiet week with Peel's bye, although with some satisfactory performances (stats-wise)

SIMPSON: 16d, 5k, 11h, 1m, 4t, 2.0
DUFFY: 18d, 11k, 7h, 1m, 1t, 3I50, 1.1

SILVAGNI: 8d, 5k, 3h, 4m, 4t, 2I50. 0.1

HOWSON (reserves): 8d, 7k, 1h, 4m, 1I50, 5.0

MELLINGTON: 18d, 11k, 7h, 4m, 3t, 5I50, 1.0

I had to leave at half time, didn't catch the end of the game. As I was walking out I saw Fyfey walking in with a young lady on his arm. I nearly prostrated myself and did a Wayne's World "We're not worthy" but contented myself with a silent prayer in his direction.
Because one like/thumbs up wasn't enough :thumbsu:.

I suspect Duffy moved up high forward or even onto the ball this week. Perhaps an attentee can confirm?

Really surprised that Duffy had that many stats tbh Para. He (like the rest of the team mind you) seemed to be stuck in first gear and really did nothing to impress me.

Running Souths Defender Justin Monaco, however, looked the goods IMO.

Wafl website says he played

http://www.wafl.com.au/games/view/9456

No idea if he played the whole game, or whether he played back or forward.

SNOS played the first half at CHF and didnt get near it other than 1 good contested mark about 40m out straight in front, but fluffed the set shot. Was moved to the backline for the 2nd half and was better, shut down Clancy Wheeler who was the most dangerous forward in the 1st half.

Was solid enough.. although i reckon his ankle isnt 100%.. seemed to lack a bit of acceleration of the mark when playing forward and couldnt distance himself from his opponent at all.

Also commiserations to all who attended the worst WAFL game i have seen in about 5 years.. horrible skills/decisions from all concerned.

Yep and after the Eagles laid claim to playing on our State Day they 'represent' our state on the National stage by putting up that tripe performance. Disgraceful club.

Duffy was on the ball or even more defensive side from what I saw. Certainly nowhere near the goals.
Simpson also played the entire game on the wing and stayed as an outside receiver, he was not always spotted up very well by his team mates when in space though. Fact that he is playing wing is a sign they are building his tank slowly. Still a ways to go, his first goal was from a free kick outside 50 didn't see the second.
