How did ____ go on the weekend?

Why not consult the Alesana Player Video Database.

Why? Hasn’t been given enough goes
Because he got a quarter as a sub, kicked a goal, then went back to the WAFL and kicked five.

That and the current holders of the position aren’t exactly lighting the world on fire.

I get it, we’ve tried Petch a million different ways, but you can’t be slagging the ‘credits crew’ approach for years and then not want a five goal game rewarded, surely.

Gotta reward form.

Petch in and even before the game is played I can safely say Long out.

Who played in the guts for the WAFL Eagles when they made the finals?
Looking at the finals win, we had Vardy/BWill/Brooksby in the ruck, with H Brayshaw (29 touches), Ainsworth (26) in the guts. Josh Smith on the wing. Brady Grey a great WAFL type kicked the winning goal. Young Exxon was there, Cole played, Rotham played, McInnes up front, old man Petrie down back.

Schoey was held out because of AFL finals. Duggan, Ah Chee, Petch, J Cameron came in the following week for the final loss. Just a great deal more AFL adjacent talent.

49 points not a great reflection on the day for me. Just got poured on late by a proper WAFL program.

Petch 5, our best. Have to reward it, even if we’ve been down this path.

HJ is sick. Get him in, for Hunt on a wing if we have to.

Bo’s not ready yet but worked hard and got involved plenty in the second half once they moved him into the middle, just needs to work on disposal. I get the concept, because once he starts sprinting with the ball it is game changing, but just make him a mid not a dashing HBF. Quicker path to AFL footy as a mid in our team, he’s not yet better than our suddenly quite stocked small-mid defender ranks.

Flynn an AFL ruck playing WAFL. Far too good. Will get another crack soon enough. Livingstone faded second half but showed plenty early. Both had two goals.

Shanahan a jet. Really happy with the depth at KPF, looks like the latest good option there.

Champion too quiet to call up but so slick when the ball is around, just a clean and smart player.

This team could really be something with a few more pieces added, particularly in the guts.

Thanks for the update mate.
I would disagree with ‚have‘ to reward petch though. We have seen him kick 5 at afl level, his issue has always been consistency. I would make him do that 3 weeks in a row and then reward what we need from him.

Bo in the guts…I like the idea ;)

I would be playing Petch in front of Hewitt at the moment and i would have said that before todays game. Hewitt has missed a whole year of footy, looks very underdone and is not impacting games at AFL level. Let him have a month in the WAFL to get some fitness and confidence before considering him for selection in the AFL side.

I am confused reading this thread - did Bo Allen have a good game or not? Is his disposal a serious issue or is it not?

Hewetts not even playing AFL this weekend you muppet.

He was great at winning the contested ball and ground balls and had a real impact in the middle; however, he regularly turned it over or put teammates under pressure with messy disposal.

I realise that but he has been getting a game for the first 3 rounds in front of others and is only being rested for soreness this week. My point is he needs some time in the WAFL. Unless somebody is an absolute A grader if they miss a whole year of footy, have an interupted pre season, make no impact in pre season games then they should be given a decent stint in the WAFL rather than being put straight into the team.

This board: ‘selection integrity is key, good performances in the WAFL need to be rewarded’

Also this board: ‘Don’t reward HIM…”

Same as Longy really

I'd drop Sheed back to the WAFL, has done nothing in the seniors all year and needs to find some form.

Because Owies and long are currently getting gifted games? Owies way older than petch.
Owies is not 'way older' - he's 25 months older. But has played just 75 (c.f 89 in 7+ seasons) games in a team much stronger than WCE - where games are harder to get.

Plus he's kicked 60 goals in the last two seasons. I'm happy to give him a bit more time to gel - but not forever (like anyone).

Inconsistency is Petro's problem but if he kicks regular bags then sure reward him.
