Disposal efficiency has been crap , turnover merchant , thats why eagles led the 1st half and some of the 3rd . Wimpy handballs not hitting targets , kicking was woeful most of the game . Commentators mentioning his name and the ball turned over . Did you even watch the whole game

That second half of the 3rd and last qtr pissed me right off.
Mini is right when he said we are no where near hard enough.
Players aren't clean enough, or hard enough at the contest by a mile.
Look good when it's easy ball but absolutely not working hard enough without it.

14 listed players and a NGA played today.
No where near good enough.

No mids who are normally your best contested possession players doesn’t help.

Grecco is a kid , will get bigger better stronger , Petch has little iq doesnt know how to be an outside mid and as an inside mid isnt smart enough iether .

I watched from halfway through the 2nd quarter. Plenty of time to see Murdock pass the eye test.

He looked tougher and worked harder than any of our players. 41 disposals, 10 tackles and a goal is elite numbers.

I also saw him use the ball cleanly and hit targets constantly by both hand and foot. Absolutely no issues skill wise.

If you saw him make errors in the first quarter that I didn't, great, but he was clearly BOG by the length of the Flemington straight.

He played. Bit quiet. 5 touches.Tackling pressure was a bit disappointing.

He's the one who would've kicked the nice running goal if Barnett wasn't a total moron and try marking and fumbling it as it was going through.

Yeah the youngest of the William brothers played and was reasonably quiet.

To be fair it’s about 9 main listed players, then 4 rookie listed and a 17 yr old colts player. Then there’s also Barnett.

Beagles just need to raise their floor a bit.

Means removing deadend players that don't offer anything.

On the plus side I reckon they've definitely gotten a tick with the amateurs this year. Datsun is a solid player, Burke is good. All-round the ammo quality has improved, but that changes year to year unfortunately as the good ones get poached.

Dewar was decent but took most of the kick outs from 17 behinds.
Long was good, probably BOG for me.

So, I'm getting a sense from the last 5 pages that Bennett may have possibly had a somewhat poorish game?

Put it this way, Good Grocer Park is adjacent to a dog exercise area but it wasn’t only our canine friends that were getting dogwalked today.

+Dewar looked good, as the above poster mentioned he took most kick ins (15 I counted) so that puffs his stats up a bit....but he did genuinely find a lot of ball in the stages when the sharks were pushing hard (as he played mostly half back) and relieved a fair bit of that pressure at times....particularly the first quarter and at least tried to springboard attacks. Has a beautiful strike of the footy on him and can really launch the ball. Had a few sloppy disposals early, but for the most part he playing his role well. Definitely has a lot of athleticism and quick reflexes to tap into which is a big upside if he can keep developing.

+Long bobbed up with a couple of goals in what was a bit of a purple patch in the game for him, but tbh they were just opportunistic than anything, granted he did the work to get into position to get them though. Looked ok, one of the better players today

+Petrucelle went into the midfield a few times, actually did ok in there....but overall whilst he was pretty cool, calm and collected on the ball for the most part he didn't have a massive impact.

+Bailey Williams battled hard

+Coen Livingstone also battled hard but just doesn't seem to have the speed of body and mind to really do anything out of the ordinary. I dunno maybe he's got something I can't ses...but yeah I can't see it. He wasn't poor though tbf

+Malakai champion had very little impact, was on the end of a heavy/awkward (totally fair) tackle that probably hampered him for the rest of the match

+Jayden Hunt just looked like a run of mill WAFL squad player who goes up and down between league and ressies tbh.....had a couple of moments but also had some shit moments and overall combined he didn't have that many moments

+++Overall Easts dominated the first quarter and could of had the game won by quarter time if they had of kicked straight (1.9(15)) but I genuinely thought the backline stood up ok in forcing them to take awkward shots and given how often the ball kept coming in they were seeing lots of it and competing hard. The forwards barely saw it and the mids were getting smashed.

Second was much better and they were actually right on top of the sharks for most of it.

Third again was good, the first 15 mins they were on top...the next 10 or so it was pretty much even and then the last 5 mins the sharks were able to keep pushing when the beagles just couldn't and clinched back the lead very late.

The last was actually a real battle for the first 20 mins but the sharks were just that bit harder smarter, cleaner. Then for the last 10 mins east Freo were really just bossing it while the eagles were hanging in their but just not good enough.

PS: got to meet jakey Waterman briefly and he signed my hat

Hard to tell if that was Barnett's worse game .
