Under the draft concessions, Wagga Wagga can bid on 1 uncontracted player per club under the same rules as their current club (i.e. pay 10% less than other clubs, only have to match other opponents' bids, cheap rookie promotions, etc). Under other concessions, any player born in 1981 or earlier can be recruited as a veteran by Wagga. The one thing they don't get is a chance to bid on players in the first week so if, for example, Adelaide offered Thompson the $1.031m maximum salary in that week, Wagga wouldn't be able to beat that bid and would therefore get nothing out of that selection.
rizzo has until the scheduled opening day of the off season on September 6 to finalise his players in this thread. These players will also be the opposite of other players in terms of tradability - they will be untradeable until a bid is won (and Wagga will automatically make an inactive minimum bid on each selected player whenever opposition bidding opens), and tradeable after a bid is won. If there are no bids on October 18 (one month before AFL draft) on any of these players, Wagga will bid the minimum bid
