its a bit of a worry...this is why...Pavlova will be the only thing that will allow Freo to beat us in a few week, and Pavlova seems to be towelling Waitey..Also that filthy terd that is Farmer will give us a worry too..

But Waite should be learning alot from this game, because we should smash fricking Freo. I hate them.

He's been moved around like a yoyo. Was probably beaten by Pav to the ball early and was given a spell, came back on and seemed to be on Richo when he was in the forward line. Difficult to say who his exact matchup late in the second term was...

Our Jarrod didn't understand that he deserved to be out there. He's as good as any of them, he just has to DO it. We love ya Waitey.

Good call and in the end result Waitey did far more for the Vics (especially with his 1%'s) than Pav did in the game. One run out of HB Waiteys kick went haywire but he was under the hammer and we won it back anyway. Gotta love his attacking play. Bower is following in his footsteps. How good are we going to be next year (Go Blues!). If we beat Geelong in RD10 we could even be a shake this year with the talent we've got (You better believe it).

Will be a bit different when Carlton play Freo. For one the game will have defensive pressure in the midfield.

Pav's inaccuracy in front of goal was enough confirmation for me that Waite overall won the contest. Pav is incredibly strong though, Jarrad just does not have that same upper or lower body strength. But this was a better match up then Waite on Richo and we only got to see the Waite/Buddy match up for a very small amount of time. Waite's athleticism and timing/reading of the play really shun in the contests.

It took Carlton coaching staff quite a long time to realise that Waite's best football occurs when he is given one big simple job and told to stick to it.
SOO coaches failed in their handling of him.
Still, he came through OK.

= Pagan. He threw Waite around like a yo yo no wonder he couldn't settle.

Similarly how Pagan treated Betts, would bring him up and then drop him, hardly gave him a chance. And yet Ratts is giving him his confidence and the chance and he has really stepped up.
Your right our players have thankfully been adaptable.

Waite didn't have a good night.
Pav - 1 goal
Franklin - 2 goals (2nd Q)
Motlop - 1 goal (3rd Q)

I'm sure there was one more. At the game I thought I counted about 5 or 6 goals kicked on Waitey. Just seems to give his leading opponent a little too much head start and has trouble closing.

Second efforts were great, and he played well in the final Q.

I just hope it doesn't knock his confidence. To be named in the Vic side after playing as a backman full time for 7 weeks.......he should take it as a learning step and move forward.

As for Pav, his delivery won't be anywhere near as good as it was last night, and he will have to work much harder for his possies.

On the other hand it wasn't a good night to be a backman with midfield pressure not high on the agenda.

Fev made Rutten look second class, yet a couple of weeks back, and throughout their matchups Rutten has usually had Fev's number........might say something about the quality of delivery and the fact Fev was on out instead of taking on two or three.

I didn't think Pavlich even kicked a goal in the match.

Quite right.......sorry.......I think Richo's long bomb was a mark on JW, my mistake.

back onto the pavlova matchup. Unless mcpharlin plays forward i'd like to see jamo on him. waite will probably get the gig but i think jamo could go better strength and smarts wise

saw the replay again last night, unfortunately Waite played a pretty bad game, not just on Pavlich, he looked bad especially when you have so many quality players around him.
And yes I agree, Jammo would be the better option to play on Pav when we play Freo.
