i thought the bulldogs were smarter how many players were unmaned from both side was amazing , they found there options better than us a lot of hard work for a few eagles i think the rest thought it was going to be easier

Wake up call to who?
The Backline is ****, it's never going to improve with the players they try in there.
How Banfield and Hiumm get games with Wooden out is amazing?
We need to poach a couple defenders from the Dockers, that's how bad it's gotten.

the whole team looked flat after quater time and once again we were breaking down across our half farward line.

yeah out defense was crap. glass is the worst decision maker under pressure in the AFL. carrol should be given the gig above him.

munro needs to learn how to mark and also how to win a 50/50 dispute.

I would not be so quick to blame the backline when the midfield allows its opponents such free reign and the backs are constantly stuck in two-on-ones which they can't win.

But agreed, this will be the week of changes.

I agree , we didnt win a centre clearance in the 3rd, our much vaunted midfield had decided the game was over aftr they all racked up posession in the first.

We struggle to a draw at home, Essendon get pumped in Sydney. There's quite likely a common link there.

And did the passes directly to Dogs players in the first quarter have any relation to the fact that we've played in our away strip for the last three weeks?

Thought crossed my mind once or twice too. And yeah, I think last week definately took its toll. Still no excuse though.

Flat as a cowpat today. I can't help but think the delayed flight home from last weeks game might have interrupted our preperation. Still, the usual suspects popped up as passengers again today. I have no idea why, must be chemistry or something, but we play better without Glass in the side. Thought Gaspar looked underdone. Brisbane have Voss, Bradshaw and their ruckman injured so we CAN bounceback if the guys pull their fingers out. And Woosha, no more passengers!

IN: Carroll, Cox, Wooden, Morrison
OUT: Humm, Munro, Hunter, Glass

Glass must go. His decision making is a shocking, he forever seems to place HIMSELF under pressure. One of the basics in football is your first option, not your second or third.

IN: Carroll, Cox, Wooden, Morrison
OUT: Humm, Munro, Hunter, Glass

Thanks Sera, I like your above idea. Munro I feel needs more confidence and Hunter is nowhere near the player he was last season and may need a gig back at Swans.

Didn't get to see this game, so I don't know why everyone is turning on Glass. But watching the Essendon game last week, I thought Glass did a very good job on Lucas. I still prefer him over Carroll.

carroll is a bucket load tougher than glass on the field. yeah he does make mistakes but i would rather a player backs himslef (to a degree) rather than just **** around with the ball and do nothing.

+ glass can't kick.

Yep totally agree. We better not go to QLD next Sunday and perform like that!

I dont know what would make Carroll stand out as tougher. Giving away stupid free kicks doesnt qualify.

Yeah he does back himself, but how often does it pay off when he does? Ultimately he turns the ball over or costs us, and the end result is the same so I dont see a benefit there.

Carroll cant kick either, his disposal is poor.

i agree that carroll does all the things that you mentioned but so does glass. it's a case of who is the lesser of the two evils.

i'd take carroll over glass but if there was a third option i'd probably take that.

Hmm, there definitely does need to be some changes made.

On thin thin ice, in the middle of the Indian ocean-
Banfield- Has been useless for several weeks. Was soundly beaten against Richmond, got given a bath by Cupido last week, and was humiliated by Brown. What the hell is the point of a back pocket defender who can't defend. His longstanding rep at the club might help him out, but realistically, atm he's losing games for us. Unless they play him as a midfield tagger again, he's a waste of space.

Hunter- Needs to find another element to his game other than roughing up forwards behind play. Might get a reprieve up forward, but realistically, there are better big men waiting for a go.

Munro- Clearly not in our best 22. Has had infinite opportunities over the last six weeks, and has completely failed to impress.

Humm- Like Munro, the coach has shown a lot of faith in him, and he really hasn't repaid it. Has courage, but isn't a ball winner, and can't limit opposition players, so he lacks any reason to be there. He's had half a season of AFL experience under his belt this year, now back to the WAFL for a while so he can put what he's learnt into practice.

Last Chance Saloon
Jones- A bit of a favorite player, but had an absolute shocker yesterday. His kicking is a real worry, and he's living on borrowed time. If he gets another chance next week, he really has to take it.

Braun- my biggest problem with Braun, is where he fits into this side. There are two midfield places on the bench. One should go to a dedicated tagger, one should go to an 'instant offence' type of player. Which one of those is Braun?

McIntosh- The only reason for picking him ahead of our younger defenders is because he's so much of a better option. Except right now, he isn't.
