Really hope the shoulder's OK. The guy has been through so much rehab over the past 12 months. Walker is a top-shelf talent, massively under-rated. He was set for a breakout year this year. :)

Strained shoulder muscle - test, according to a poster over at Talking Carlton (think it might be Walker's father).

yeah i heard the same thing.

supposedly its a strained AC joint.......could be a week thing or a few weeks thing

either way no surgery!!

i think we should give walker the rest of the year off and let him freshen up so he can have a good preseason and be ready for next year

If he is fit then no way.

That would mean a year out of footy which won't do him any favours.

Lets wait and see how significant this latest injury is before we go crazy.

Walkers first 3/4 were great, and the sooner he gets in and learns to play with Judd, Stevo and co the better, but only if he is fit.:thumbsu:

There's been an article posted. They are saying "strained muscle"

CARLTON is optimistic midfielder Andrew Walker will be available to face the Western Bulldogs this Sunday after scans confirmed he escaped serious damage when he injured his shoulder on the weekend.
Walker, 22, wrenched his ‘good’ shoulder on Sunday against the Swans and sat out the final term as he iced the left joint.
Scans have since confirmed he had strained a muscle and is "hopeful" of being available to play this week.

They also say that Carlos did a calf muscle (but also say he played the last 3 games in the Ants?)

Good news on Tex.

If the reports can be believed (watch if and how he trains and whether its strapped for an AC or a subluxation........any training pics would help :D), then a muscle strain is much better in a lot of respects than structural damage - AC joint or labral injury.

Tex will be relieved.

Just on that list, getting a few back in the next few weeks.

Army to come in for Carrotts and play on Aker?

yay:)

I read somewhere that Armfields finger wasnt recovering as thought and that he wouldnt play in the VFL until next week, as the antz have a bye this week. How good will the Antz go when all of Houlihan Armfield Hadley Bannister Bower ar Armfield in there. YES! we play Sandy then so Bower can hurt Sautner. YES!

BB, any chance this new injury of Walkers has anything to do with the word "compensatory" ie his good shoulder not used to being all alone the last few months?

Of course there is always a chance, but there is also a chance that, much like any other player on the ground, he could have just injured it without any contribution of the older injury.

As I have no idea exactly what the injury is or how it was sustained its difficult to speculate.........but I do try.:D
