I think this has been discussed before on this board, but I think the idea has real merit. Let's face it, his field kicking is far better than his goal kicking. He generally pushes up high anyway.
I thinking the biggest benefit though, would be that it would get him more involved in the play. Having your captain around the ball more has to be a positive. Imagine the forward delivery with Atkins on one wing and Tex on the other. He has the tank for it and would create a match up nightmare for the opposition. Richo nearly won a Brownlow when he moved to the wing.

It would also allow us to move Mackay on and create a space in the forward line for Menzel next year.

He certainly good further up the ground, but he needs to stop playing for frees and wrestingly with his opponent.

The playing for Frees thing is just a monster of the AFL's creation.
