He is telling us not to draft anymore young tall players? Maybe another JON?

According to him we need a class wingman? Backline kicker? Sounds like things Jordan McMahon could do.

- Move of Deledio to the back half a good move.
- Rance and Post are our future stars, Rance needs to be settled in a position.
- Class Wingman needed , don't want strong bodied backman.
- Need a kicker from the backline

Shifter, we could get, Pit, Polak, but should go for Shaun Atley.

When speaking to Alex Rance, expressed that he felt that the squad wasn't going to go forward, untill our young players gained ownership of the group which wasnt likely to occur untill the older players moved on or reached near the end of their careers !!

I think Rance spoke well, and he seemed to acknowledge fully why he is playing VFL at the moment, saying he needs to work on his balance and decision making, but his hardness and work rate is what he compensates his average skills with. Good on him, I look forward to him returning. Wallace is a tool, that's probably the longest conversation he's ever had with Alex.

He was saying things like "it's really nice to actually have some structures in place", and "you won't get shouted down if you speak up", and how players actually know what they have to do.

Haha good form, Rance seems to speak the way he plays.

I thought TW made 3 very important comments.

Rance needs to be settled in a position.
Deledio down back is a good move.
To progress our young players needed to assume greater ownership of the side as the older players moved on or reached the end of their career.

I still don't understand why if he makes such comments why he didn't do something about it.

He screwed more players around by switching them more so than any coach , he had the choice to move Lids , whilst he continually recruited and held onto older players ??

It may have sounded like he said Polak but he most likely said Polec who is a SA mid.

He didn't say future stars.. he said that they were recruited as big bodies and that they were worth persisting with so a big bodied KPD was not something we should target when using our first pick.

id agree with that, but i still think we need to draft one or two big bodied KPD with later picks over the next couple of years.

post i still have hope for, but i dont think rance will ever hold down a key position let alone be good enough to play anywhere else on the ground in a team thats top 8 quality (when we get there)

I thought he was asked who were going to be a couple of our upcoming stars, and he replied a couple of our bigger bodied guys Post and Rance ?

Nah, I took it as he just stated that they were still young KPD that were big bodied so targeting that area in the draft wasn't his advised attack... no big deal just dont think he said they were going to be stars.

What we really need is another ruckman. We have no depth if Graham goes down.

Wallace was reasonably balanced in his assessment today. He was fairly complementary towards Hardwick and there did not seem to be sour grapes. Did not comment much on the new recruits and there was more focus on the players he was familiar with.

Andrew Browne was terrific for coburg on the weekend. Moves well and can take a grab. Will be a fine ruckman imo.

I watched the game on TV and was also impressed with big Browne, is starting to get a bit more bulk on his frame and moves really well for his size. Anyone have any idea what his on field demeanour is like?

credit must go to Lade, graham, browne and vickery have all imrpoved this season.

but we do need to draft a rookie ruckmen in each of the next two drafts.

what i hope we dont do is use a first or second rounder on a ruckmen.
