If we had signed Wallace for 5 years I'd be ropable. 4 years absolute maximum, 3 prefered for a top class candidate, 2 for someone in the calibre of DMAC. My prefence would be Eade for 3, at most 4.

Any negativity on this board visa-vi Wallace is merely sour grapes . It`s D-Mac for you
Not saying Wallace wouldn't have been good for the Hawks, but 5 YEARS!! Hell, have Richmond ever had a coach that long and not wanted him assasinated. Imagine the uproar this time next year when the tiggers are sitting 15th again and still have the same coach for another 4 years!

Wallace is a smart man, by far the best coach available for the HFC, however 5 years is pushing it a bit too far. Wish him all the success and i'm sure Richmond will succeed with him at the helm. We need a career coach. Rocket is next

For Dermie to come out and then say that Wallace wasn't the number 1 candidate for the job, showed just what a mess the club is in. Get Dunstall to fill the CEO job but for the sake of the club get rid of Dermott.

I know some people get into Dermott and the football department at the first sign of a mistake, but why havent any other prospective coaches even been talked to in a formal setting?

Hutchi said on Talking Footy that we put our eggs in one basket. That appears to be the case. Hopefully Eade won't be taken by Adelaide or Collingwood before we can interview him.

FFS, what makes people happy? One one hand we're condemned for sacking coaches in a short space of time and on the other we're condemned for giving a new coach 5 years for stability.....frawley had 5 years and was a mediocre coach.

WHAT IS IT YOU PEOPLE WANT EXACTLY?????

So what? Donald is coaching well at the moment. Just because he hasn't coached at a high level for a very long time doesn't mean he is no less a coach than TW.

It's great players that make great coaches. What both Richmond and Hawthorn need are great players because at the moment we got very little between both of us.

What does IDGAF stand for anyway? I do great anal farts

What your club needs is someone from outside the club, someone fresh and exciting like O'Donnell or Harvey. From the outside it seems to be a bit of a boys club, very insular. It's all well and good saying that Ayres and Eade etc haven't been at the club for a long time but you don't want to go down the Ken Judge road again.

I think you need to get Dermott out of the footy department and give a fresh face a go rather than trying to lure Pagan or Matthews you should be going down the road which saw young guys like Laidley given a chance.

Good luck.

who died and made terry wallace the god of coaching ??? reading the press and the fact of the five year contract one would think he can lift any team higher....he might be a good coach but he will only win finals if he has the players to take him there....as they say "you can't polish a ********"

no matter that the tigers say its a long term rebuilding plan, give him 2.5 years of no success at richmond and they'll be paying him 1.5m in severance pay

5 years is nothing

Wallace will be a 10 year coach at Richmond easily.....................

When Eade signs up with the crows in the next few weeks have fun scrapping the bottom of the barrel

LMAO!!

Terry Wallace - did he end up coaching for 10 years?

Ordinarily, dead bumps like this are frowned upon...

But, on this occasion...go for it!

Seeing they had the good grace to come to our board and troll, and get it horribly, horribly wrong, feel free to quote them for a while. A few notifications won't hurt them... ;)
