wallace at the end of tonights game gave his thoughts on some players tonight who he thinks cant cut it.

2 players he named were Marsh and Shulz, he said he felt they werewnt upto the rigours of senior footy. and some of their efforts tonight he seriously doubted their stamina and fitness to match it at the elite level.

he named these players with question marks:

Ty Zantuck, said Richmond seemed to have played him everywhere and he doesnt look like it

Morrison, he had a question mark that he could do it, even after his first good week, he felt that perhaps its not what we are looking for

Hyde, said although he tried his guts out, he felt he wasnt upto it in regards to being a midfielder with a decent impact

and he asked Richmond to never ever play Gaspar or Kellaway in the FWD line ever again.

I was a bit suprised by some of his assessments but let's face it, they are the cold hard facts.

Let's face it, Marsh was only drafted to be the spare ruckman if Otto and/or Stafford were out.

Zantuck is a defender. He actually does well at this and his kicking out of the backline is OK. (He should never be asked to do the kicking in after a behind though).

He can sometimes catch opposition by surprise up forward because he is deceptively quick and strong. Not good enough thought as a permanent forward.

I have never been a wrap for Hyde. I saw him fluff a kick in the VFL prelimanary final - missed an open goal from 10 metres under no pressure - that said we wasn't skilled enough to make it at the top level. He is played solely as a defensive player which is never going to win us games.

I missed the Sculz comment. (I was actually walking out of the stadium then and lost reception). If he made it though, then it was a little harsh. Sculz still is only 18 and has a lot of development yet left before he is written off.

I will not ever be critical of any player that plays in our forward line. The fact that the ball is delivered poorly down there means that they never get a fair go. My view is that Morrisson has been an effective workhorse in the first 3 games at CHF. He didn't get much game time tonight which was odd - we still have not seen him play in the defensive half of the ground.

Wallace is 100% right about Gaspar and Kellaway up forward. Both are clueless once the ball goes past the centre circle. For all the brilliant judgement Gaspar shows when the ball is coming into the defence, he can't seem to translate it to when it is coming forward.

Kellaway doesn't have the speed off the mark to be a dangerous forward. Cannot make the space necessary.
