It sucks that we all knew 3 weeks was going to happen. Being the glass half full person I am, I hoped that he wouldn't get charged.

We have a right as fans to be pissed about this. It's unjust. It goes against the fabric of the game. Cripps can launch off the ground and knock a guy out and win the brownlow, meanwhile our captain goes for a mark and another guy runs into him and knocks himself out on the ground. Nek minnit 3 week ban. It's beyond unfair. It is bloody disgraceful.

Nothing majorly new to say that already hasn't already been mentioned except a couple regarding incoming players.

We have a handful of players ready to play within 3-4 weeks - Driz, Fyfe, Sturt, Jaeger and Walters.

I love the current squad and the attacking/pressure we've brought in the last two matches, so changing it is a bit of a worry.

Currently, I'd be leaning to get Driz in for Sharp and perhaps give Fyfe a go for Jonno. Jeez, I can't think of who to drop for the other guys at the moment. It might be wise to give some of the more injury-prone guys like Sturt and Fyfe a run in the WAFL first.

I personally would not bring an ageing Fyfe in for Johno. They may be similar players now (I’d argue that Johno kicks goals and his pace causes problems)
but it’s the trajectories that are so different.
Johno is building and will continue to improve over a period of time as he learns his craft.
Fyfe has been enormous for Freo but his age and body are restricting him. There is only one direction his game is going and that’s in decline.
The decision is tough but actually fairly simple. It’s partly why teams like the Hawks trade out players like Lewis, Mitchell, Hodge etc . They still have some petrol in the tank and you get some value for them. Their role can be filled by a youngster on half the salary!

And to rub salt in the wounds those flogs at the VFL just laugh at us while they do as they please.

Seriously, you think Longmuir or any coach leaves significant strategy decisions up to how they feel about each other? And then let's them get away with it for entire games/seasons?

That would really be an issue in itself.

yes the tactic is get our better users the ball - byproduct of that is our bad ball users will then get the ball less.

It also highlights our lack of midfield depth, especially at the moment with Young and NOD out. (and Fyfe and JOM)


I think long term we fine, but it would be good to add an extra player who can run through there so we can cover injuries.



Brayshaw, Serong, Young, NOD, Erasmus and Johnson
Plus Bolton, Whan, Robinson we are probably fine plus Reid and maybe Pickett running through the middle in bursts.

JOM, Banfield .... as depth.

No...Calling for the ball, being ready, is part of the package.
It doesn't mean he expects the pass...but he has to be ready.
And...he has to be OK with that...team discipline.

Keep playing him. My opinion only, sad as it is, Fyfe has played his last game in Purple. Unless we give he and Walters an honour game.

In my opinion, EVERY club in the AFL should help Fremantle pay the entry fee.In games to come, it is going to affect every club.
This is the most important Tribunal decision for many many years.
If the ban stands, then the game is screwed.
