I've watched it a few times now, but only with the one camera angle. Can't see Georgiades there. It doesn't seem like a down the field free kick either. Wines, Lord and further downfield Powell-Pepper are closer. Not sure where Georgiades comes from.
Mitch is there. On the ground at the 50m line. I would screenshot but Kayo doesn't let me

It's ok. You're right. They've switched from one contest to the previous part in a different part of the ground. I can Finlayson is near Wines after they show the marking incident which indicates the cameras went back to the back play. It is Georgiades in the marking contest.

there’s good reason he’s ignored though, obviously players don’t have confidence in playing through him. that’s an issue in of itself, great the bloke can run all day but he can’t play football
It's a coaching tactic.

Seriously, you think Longmuir or any coach leaves significant strategy decisions up to how they feel about each other? And then let's them get away with it for entire games/seasons?

That would really be an issue in itself.

Definitely worth an appeal - Lynch was given 3 and was cleared on appeal.

It's interesting that DBJ missed the mark ie his body wasn't correctly situated in terms of the flight of the ball. No-one questions that Pearce had his eye on the ball until the unavoidable last moment ie he could not be responsible for adjusting to the awkward positioning of DBJ that contributed in some way to the nature of the collision.

So...

1. Pearce eyes on ball until too late to change his trajectory.
2. Contact was tangential to the side of the face and from the upper part of the arm which was held straight down, not shaped to bump.
3. DBJ not in an ideal position relative to the flight of tha ball increasing the likelihood of an awkward collision.
4. And here's $10000 in a brown envelope.

And now we know who hit Reid

Eddie Everywhere bangs on about these kind of incidents a bit, versus football incidents of unavoidable contact getting punished more that behind the play punches which just get fines, so perhaps he will get on his soapbox again this week and vent his outrage about the disparity.

This assumes we even consider ourselves on teams and don't exist as individuals. We HAVE to let go of that mind thought. I say if you're a traditionalist, you might also piss n shit first before your shower too.... Ah but sometimes l like that warm water on my body first rather than putting it in the bowl..... ;p
Wot?

Sorry I had to. No disrespect to Port fans but you love to see it.

Keep Wallsy at all costs.

Still on the fence about JL but could that Giants win be the break out game we need?

Don’t post here as much but I lurk here a lot. Thread is quiet. If we lost this game the negative nonces will come out with their usual “Supported this club for 30 years and we still suck!” dribble. That’s fine but call a good win when you see it you w***ers. That was a damn solid W.
Sure good win , credit to the players but it’s a step towards respectability not a leap. Loved our chase from behind all night it’s our major KPI I think … makes everything else functional

what does worry me is we had to arrive at our most dangerous line* up purely by accident

How the **** can you trust the powers that be when they can’t see what’s staring them in the face ?

Anyway a happy week ahead

* minus young and NOD IMO

Assuming we lose the appeal, and there has been no evidence to suggest we would win an appeal over the last however many years, I feel the Pearce situation needs an explanation from Laura Kane or someone high up in the AFL. I'm sure we'll be provided with a glib statement about duty of care, but I would like to see exactly what is expected of players and when with a frame by frame analysis suggesting what Pearce should have done whilst also legally contesting the ball

Fantastic game and a pleasant surprise to see a professional performance in the wet against a team who've been under the pump this week. Feels like the starting 22 are much more balanced and as others have noted, they seem to be developing some real synergy.

Next week is a much bigger test though. If we scrap a win against GC (especially sans Pearce), I'll start to regain a bit more of the faith.

If it stays at 3 weeks out for Moose, one slight positive is it is probably 2 of the three weaker teams we face all year, and both are at Optus. If we were to be without him, we'd probably pick North and the Bombers at Optus as two of the ones we'd have most chance to cover for him. Big out against the Suns obviously, they have a really well set up forward line structure that seems to be fully firing at Metricon

Poor Ras. $2000 bucks lighter.

One incident graded "intentional".

That's funny in a sick way. It's neither careless nor high. Concussion came from hitting the ground.

The careless act is running back with the flight. When are the AFL going to crack down on this dangerous action?dumb campaigners getting themselves knocked out shouldn't result in a suspension to the victim.
