Neade has taken his spot. He will be delisted at seasons end.
No question about Neade, however there may be a couple of players who are on the end of year line ahead of Hitchy.

How handy would Dayle Gartlett from the WAFL be in our forward line. I know he has off field issues, but coming to a new state and a new environment might be good for him. He had 29 touches, 13 marks and 2 goals on Thursday in the seniors. After being overlooked last season he might still scare clubs off, but we should look past those issues and go and get him!

Had to of drafted him. Even with our draft suspensions, getting Crouch Gartlett and Siggins in one year makes it one of the best drafts in the AFL.

Even if Gartlett had to live in the Granny Flat out the back of Sandos house and be mentored daily by Andrew McLeod we had to of gotten him. A talent like that is to good to let go by.

Honestly he can play. I wouldnt trade anymore then Ian Callinan for him. We could get him for free id think of we wanted at years end.

I am not sure you would have an equivalent player to trade, it would have to be picks. Hang on a minnit ... :p

Nah seriously this is not one of those BF Hitchy for Tex type things, I just put a name out there of someone that you may convince to move to the Chardy side for more opportunities.

EMMANUEL IRRA FFS!!!
Irra was simply sensational in the South twos on Friday night...only reserves but cut it to shreds with his pace and skill. There were afl scouts (including Jason McCartney) there with Irra high on the interest list. We won't get a chance at him.

Ive seen Hitchcocks last couple of sanfl games and he wasnt exactly tearing it up. I cant imagine the Crows would be interested when we have our own, already listed, small fwds not tearing up the sanfl. Ports athletic smalls against WCE were unbelievable in the 2nd half. Wingard and neade kept them in it and grays attack on the ball was something to see. I just hope we can pluck a similar type with one of our late picks this year.

Funny.. not one of the clubs agreed with you. All 18 of them passed him by, with every single selection in the National Draft, every single selection in the Pre-Season Draft and every single selection in the Rookie Draft.

Didn't that happen with Pav?

Completely different situation. Garlett was overlooked because of off-field issues which made him a complete and utter liability. Nobody wanted to know about him, particularly after Essendon gave him a chance and he threw it back in their faces. End result - he was overlooked in every single round of the ND, PSD and RD. On average, that means that every single club rejected him approximately 6-8 times.

Pav was overlooked because of a quirk in the draft rules at the time, which has since been removed. Back then clubs were only allowed to draft 1x 17yo kid in the National Draft. All their other draftees (ND, PSD and RD) had to be aged 18+. In other words, each club had precisely 1 chance to draft Pav - and none of them decided that he was the best 17yo for their needs. The following year he blitzed the SANFL and was taken #4, long before Adelaide entered the draft.

Pav was overlooked because he wasn't one of the 16 best 17yo kids in the country at the time. Twelve months later he was judged the 4th best 18yo in the country. Garlett was rejected approx 150 times because his off-field behaviours made him unsuitable for a position on an AFL team list.

We all know why they didn't take him, and it had nothing to do with talent. His talent is top 10 draft. His issue was off field, which with the right work can be fixed, and by all accounts it has been now. He will be drafted next year, and it will most likely be Collingwood cos they always win off our loss.

If he's still rated as a top-10 talent and is deemed to have fixed his off-field problems, then Collingwood won't get anywhere near him. He'll be long gone by the time they enter the draft.

We've got plenty of those.

He doesn't have the Gaul to do so.

He needs a French guy?

Nathan Van Berlo and Darren Jarman out for a walk

Yes, I agree.

Even when we did draft one (Milera) Neil drove him out of the club because he wasn't an endurance running machine from Day 1.

Should always have a couple of indigenous small forwards on your list (not Petrenko - is and always has been a defender, not Johncock - defender). Might be a low strike rate but the upside is immense.

Another Spackhouse call.

Milera's main endurance problem was getting out of bed and finding his way to West Lakes.

Any comments on the development of Lyons over the last two years?

Thought that might lure you back.

Have made plenty of comments on Lyons :)

Do you have any idea how Milera is going at the moment? His height was probably always going to work against him, regardless of how Craig felt about his aerobic capacity.

And I don't care what race they are, or where they're from, I just want someone who's quick and can read the ball off the pack, so that we can finally stop pretending that Petrenko is a forward.

Jake Neade says hello! :)

Just arrived back from Melbourne. I haven't seen the replay yet but there was plenty of old fashion footy to entertain you Carl (extra man in the backline stuff, just like last year's Grand Final, well O.K. all the finals if I want to be accurate).

Any comments on that great new "tackle like terrorists" game plan?

Stretching your delusion across two seasons. Quite an effort. Must be a dagger through your heart that 'drop off defender' has become such a commonly used phrase. Has got to the point that people say it without thinking.... loose man / drop off... has almost become synonymous now.

Interestingly, did you see when we played a four man forward line with TWO spares in defence? I did. After Walker went down. And we were getting smashed in the middle. And it was 6 goals to 1. And we were hanging out for the quarter time siren.

Any comments on that great new "tackle like terrorists" game plan?
I feel for Sando. What's the phrase... standing on the shoulders of giants?
