Wanting to start a blog

Hey guys, i'm thinking of starting up my own blog, and was just wondering if any of you have done the same in the past. Is it easy to do and maintain? Is it costly? Is it worthwhile?

Writing is a pretty personal thing. You really have to ask yourself if you'll find it "easy", and "worthwhile". Depends what you want to get out of it, doesn't it?

The hardest thing is keeping inspiration. Depends what you want to achieve really. If you're happy for it to just be a collection of your own thoughts, updated at your leisure, then there's no pressures and you can definitely maintain it for free. If you want to publicise your blog a bit more, prepare to put a bit of money into it for a theme/domain. Say about $50.

Yup. If you're committed and find an easy to use host.

Is it costly?

Nope. A lot of hosts are free.

Is it worthwhile?

Depends what your intent is. If you're using it as a personal space to share with friends/family, sure. If you intend for it to get huge, it's going to have to be something pretty special. Very few blogs get massive viewership.
