3-9 and missed top 4 last year by half a game. There are no such thing as silly cheap shots at the club with the crap that has been rolled out this year.
Will be 3 -10 this time tomorrow night unfortunately and Dimma will be channeling Kim Hughes at his press conference . A win would be nice wouldn't it.

Isn't it amazing how we have gone from a destination club to a rabble again in one off season and about 7 rounds of footy. Your point is exactly correct , 4 years of planning and building totally stuffed by 5-6 months of planning and stuffing up in the off season. Imagine if we had of not got Hampson and got Cross instead if Thomas to replace Tucky or actually promoted Miles at the start of the year. Way too many sliding doors moments for mine. What a shocking a year and now the club wants to wave the cheque book around to try and fix it. We sound like Carlton when I read these articles in the paper . The last one was so poorly timed theinday after we capitulated to the Roos. The media department probably thought it gives us supporters hope but just shows to me that they are clutching at straws. Can't even have out own players turning up every week. Who would want to join us?

Rubbish? 30 something years, 3 finals appearances. Yeah, what a cheap shot. Just like when i was cheap when richmond were struggling and i used to buy 2 memberships to help them out. But no, you're right, i should keep buying to memberships and not expect anything from the club. You're right mate. What a bad supporter i am. Let me put my blindfold back on and march in line with you.

Look overall I don't necessarily disagree with what you say but I guess we'll probably continue to disagree on the pointless cheap shot side of things. A win would be damn nice.
 
Think the club needs to ask Burgess why he chose Port over Richmond, and act on those reasons.I think we have an issue with the tail wagging the dog, and some pretty outdated ideas of how to get the most out of young men.

It was because his wife wanted to live in Adelaide rather than Melbourne. Nothing to do with him knocking us back for off field reasons as far as that is concerned

We surely can do both. We are probably the second biggest club in the league, have paid our debt, printing cash through membership sales ect.

We have cap room and have always allowed some for a gun player to come in but not sure there are too many available.

  • Fyfe - Would love him but you don't trade these days for a big name you wait until FA. Would have to trade the farm to get him.
  • Frawley - Would be keen on Frawley for the right price. He is a gun KPD and would sure up our defense for the next decade with Rance taking the secondary player and Astbury should he get over his injuries. Also allows Grimes to play natural 3rd tall.
  • Gibbs - I would be keen on him. I know people think he is a bit oen way and a bit of a cat, but you cannot deny his talent. Like Deledio he is inconsistent but if we could get him in and all it would cost us would be cap space I would be all for it. With Cotch, Gibbs, LIDS, Martin running around not to mention our other first rounders stepping up, you can't tag them all. I am all for adding quality and he is QUALITY.
  • Mundy - He is old but if you got him for 3 years and to get him you have to pay say 600k instead of paying say Grigg 300k and Knights 300k (love Knights but body is cooked), then might as well do it and then in 3 years replace him with another FA. Would be a good leader to add to the group and help develop and grow as well as being a GUN mid.
Would be keen to trade for first round picks who have gone to other clubs and lacked oppurunity that we can get cheap aka Dom Tyson style improvement expected:

  • O'Rourke - Classy player and we might be able to snag him with our second rounder and say Vickery or a pick received for Vickery.
  • Tom Mitchell - GUN INSIDE MID and would help fix a clear deficiency we have plus he is only 20.
  • Coizer - If the price is right he is showing great form in the WAFL just can't break into a strong Freo side.
Outside of this hire the likes of Ling who would be a good guy to get into our system. In saying this Cameron Ling's PR team is doing a fantastic job building him up as some freak coach...good player doesn't always make a good coach See M Voss. Probably more inclined to getting Worsfold as a senior assitant. Also get some quality fitness staff because we are very very obviously struggling with run. We couldn't run out the final and plenty of other games in 2013 and it is the same story this year.

And anyone who thinks more coin would change the missus mind ain't married (been there, tried that, failed)
 
New idea for the war chest! whatever contract shane edwards has, pay him out and get him out. 130+ games and still such a useless passenger.

I think voss was a good coach. they sacked the poor bloke when the lions nearly made the finals last year, they missed out by a stupid umpiring decision. what the lions did was terrible.

Cost too much and his output is getting limited. Pass for me. Would rather play Brett O as he is essentially the same player.
