After a long blockade of about 1,000 cars at checkpoints in captured Vasylivka, the Russian occupiers allowed people to enter territory controlled by the Ukrainian government.

Details: A queue of about one thousand cars formed at the checkpoint, in which people from different settlements of Zaporizhia region are trying to leave for the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government.

Also just to repeat, yesterday we also saw this bloke (Svyatoslav Palamar) stating that he and some others are still at the plant - the Ukrainian statement is that civilians, casualties and dead were arranged to be sent out. The third of these was still in progress.

you need access to foreign exchange reserves to be able to buy oil or petroleum products as the transactions are all denominated in usd.

sri lanka is bankrupt and has no foreign exchange reserves left. at 4 may it was down to its last 50 million of usable dollar reserves. thats an insanely low number for a country. thry have 7 billion in dollar denominated debt due this year alone they cant possibly repay and have suspended repayments.

for the same reason there are mass shortages of a whole bunch of foreign sourced goods from medicine to parts for cars to imported foostuffs.

they are basically venzuela now minus oil

This post suggests a belief that Russia will again attempt to force a river crossing, this time closer to Yampil & Siversk. The post is 2 hours old, dunno about the story.

Here the post accuses that Russia are enabling civilian movements from Mariupol only to Russia. Any attempt to leave in any other direction is blocked.

The authorities of Mariupol reported that the Russians continue the forced deportation of Mariupol residents to Russia. The military blocks any attempts to leave the city and refuse to "evacuate".

Investigations have landed on a launch location for the bombing of the railway station Kramatorsk a month ago. Remember that while there was zero sense in the fabrication, Russia tried to claim the missile came from Ukrainian-held territory. Now it's found that the missile was launched from territory occupied by the invaders.

The last day at Azovstal: terrible shots. Ukrainian hero Dmitry Kozatsky recorded a video with Azovstal surrounded by orcs and handed it over to documentarians. These shots should be seen by the whole world.

Slutsky says the suggestion of exchanging Azovstal defenders for Medvedchuk will be looked at.

He also seems to differentiate between Azovstal and Azov when reiterating his urging that Russia renege on its agreement to seek exchanges for all those who left the plant.

Leonid Slutsky said that the issue of exchanging fighters from Azovstal for Viktor Medvedchuk "will be studied"

The head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs made this statement today in Donetsk at a joint press conference with the head of the self-proclaimed DPR, Denis Pushinlin.

“As for the exchange, we will study the issue. Not just us, but those who have the authority in Moscow to study and make decisions regarding the initiative to exchange Medvedchuk for Azov,” Slutsky is quoted by Interfax and RIA Novosti.

Recall that now more than 2.5 thousand Ukrainian soldiers who were at Azovstal in Mariupol are in Russian captivity. Viktor Medvedchuk is a pro-Russian politician and businessman from Ukraine. He is accused of treason.

On May 16, Leonid Slutsky said that the moratorium on the death penalty should be lifted for captured fighters from the Azov detachment in Russia.

On the evening of May 21, Slutsky wrote on his Telegram channel: “I would like to make an accent for those who like to take quotes out of context. Do not cling to polite language and do not make sensations from scratch. My opinion has not changed: no exchange of fighters banned in the Russian Federation "Azov" should not be, their fate should be decided by the tribunal."

Russian troops destroyed the bridge between Severodonetsk and Lisichansk.

Serhiy Gaidai, head of the Lugansk administration, wrote about this on his telegram channel. In peacetime, the bridge connected these two settlements, in each of which lived about 100 thousand people.

In 2014, the bridge across the Seversky Donets was already blown up by militants from the self-proclaimed DPR, the Ukrainian authorities restored it in 2016.



PS: I believe there is actually still another, smaller load bridge still upright that crosses the river between the two towns.
