Kuzbass Governor Predicts a 10% Decline in Coal Production

Coal production in the Kemerovo region is expected to decrease by about 10% by the end of 2025, according to the regional head Ilya Seredyuk.

"Due to the worsening situation in external markets, we are observing a decline in industrial production volumes. This year, we will see a decrease in coal production by approximately 10% in physical terms. It could have been worse, but we hold daily anti-crisis meetings regarding various enterprises," TASS quotes Seredyuk.

Currently, 30 out of 151 coal enterprises are in the red zone (i.e., facing economic problems). Eighteen have suspended operations.

The European governments need to tell the truth and say that russia is at war with not only Ukraine but the whole of Europe. It may not be an armed conflict with Europe, at the moment, but if russia is allowed to “win” (what ever that might mean) in Ukraine Europe will be at much greater risk.

Just 18% expect peace to come in 2025. At the same time, 76% believe in victory if Ukraine receives proper Western support, and 75% categorically reject Russia’s proposed peace plan.

I'll believe it when I see it. They've 'talked about', 'potentially' taking the assets, rather than interest earned on them for literally years now. It's another case of Europe trying to sound serious, then balking at actually having to do something serious. Trump is a narcissistic Russian loving fool, but he does have right the Europeans need to actually stand up more for themselves instead of hiding behind Washington's skirts.

This war could be (effectively if not literally) over in 6 months if Europe seized those assets, used the money to buy weapons for Ukraine, stopped limiting what they give Ukraine (Taurus), started shooting down missiles / drones within 100 km's of their borders and stopped any shadow tankers going through their waters.

Instead it'll be more 'we stand with Ukraine'*

Reminds me of the League of Nations sanctions on Italy due their invasion of Abyssinia. Which banned what Italy did not need but not what they did. So for instance weapon sales to Italy where banned, but Italy had more than enough already to win. On the other hand Oil, Coal, Gas which Italy had to import where not banned. Neither was the Suez canal which Italy relied upon to supply its troops closed to Italian shipping.

It's certainly within the power of NATO members to block Russian shipping from the Black sea and the Baltic sea. Now technically NATO should be a war to impose a blockade (but see the US "quarantine" of Cuba in the Cuban missile crisis). With all the grey warfare attacks in the Baltic sea and the dangerous safety conditions of Russian shadow fleet tankers, a "quarantine" to protect international shipping and maritime infostructure could be justified.

Or Denmark/Sweden could "lease" some patrol craft and a port to Ukraine. Ukraine then imposes a blockade on Russian shipping though the Oresund strait. As the entire Oresund strait lies within the territorial waters of Denmark/Sweden, NATO is entitled to stop Russian naval forces from interfering.

Vassy is an ambassador for The NOH8 Campaign, a charity organization that promotes LGBT rights worldwide. Vassy has actively shared photos and videos on Instagram with and in support of LGBT representatives.
