Australia did sign a treaty with USA saying if one country gets attacked the other will help and defend them.
So in this case, USA gets attacked and thousands of people die. Australia has a relationship with the Americans which is unique and we want to keep it that way.
By doing so we would have to support them, and if u just imagined everyone in this country saying "No i will not go, dont want to die" then the relationship between Australia and USA will evaporate.
Then.. If Australia was attacked, and the USA citizens gets the same attitude like Australians and say NO! then who is f*cked?
Im sure the American troops are scared, but they signed up to be a marine, and its time for them to do their job...
