Blizzard can't write stories for shit, same as every other video game developer. Even 'good' video game plots make shitty movies because the mediums are completely different. And Blizzard don't make games with good plots. This isn't just any old video game movie. This movie has thousands of years worth of lore. This movie didn't get off the ground for ages because blizzard wanted it done right. Blizzard aren't schmucks, they take pride in there work and like their games it will show in this movie.

Wow. You are the first person I have ever seen with a positive opinion on these movies. I have not seen SF but loved MK. Apparently I am nuts. :sStreet Fighter and Mortal Kombat were fun and nailed the campy tone brilliantly.

Yeah I love the first Mortal Kombat film. I can't remember the second too much though.
This was always going to be canned be critics. Who takes critic reviews seriously these days anyway..?
Fans of the games are saying its a good adaptation and a good movie so I'll listen to those familiar with Warcraft.
Ignore all the critics and listen to the hardcore fans is pretty stupid.
"Too bad you.... will diiieee."

Given how much they've spent on it though, they NEED non-Warcraft players to like it. If they want to make more movies, they need non-Warcraft players to like it. If they don't, then this'll probably be the first and last.i can't remember the last time I've ever agreed with the opinion of critics. It's not so much just taking hardcore fans opions, it's being a Warcraft fan, id take the opinions of fans who understand it over a critics view of a movie they know nothing about.
If fans like it, there's a much better chance me as a fan will enjoy it, compared to some ****** critic.

I like reading critics but you're right about word of mouth being strong. It does need to be embraced by everyone though, like I said. Given it's called "The Beginning" they're obviously planning a franchise.I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I've got a group going to see this, two of us are Warcraft players and the others aren't. Plus I'm a believer word of mouth holds more weight than critic reviews. If Warcraft fans enjoy it and can tell / take friends along to see it, the movie will be fine. Critic reviews don't hold any weight IMO.

Prepare to have your mind blown.Won myself tickets to the launch screening of this at IMAX on Tuesday. Never been to IMAX before so can't wait.
