I think that half the problem with the reviews, blokes have no idea what warcraft even is assume it's a poor GOT knockoff and write it off accordingly
They'd review it better if they realised it was a poor Warhammer knock-off?

I enjoyed the movie. Probably wasn't long enough in terms of story/character development but I daresay that would be a studio issue not a producer one. Felt like they were forced to a time limit.

I guess it helped that I knew the world a bit and had a bit of background knowledge before the fact. Loved the visuals and the magic and the Orcs looked top notch.
40 minutes apparently were left on the cutting room film due to the studio.

No, but its not a movie based on the games, its a movie based on the story.

I will admit I was sad when there was no peon saying "Ready to work" or something like that.

zug zug?

I downloaded a solid version online and as a Warcraft fan, it was pretty well done. Not perfect, but definitely enjoyable... and it sets up for sequels, which I'm already looking forward to.

Durotan was definitely a strong point in the movie. Toby Kebbell redeemed himself as Doctor Doom from Fantastic Four last year.

Yep, that's a slap in the face to all Warcraft fans.

Seriously though, the fact that this movie is smashing it in China means we should get at least one sequel, maybe even a proper franchise.

It isn't LOTR, Star Wars, or Harry Potter, but I feel like it has the potential to be a very solid series of movies, especially if Duncan Jones stays at the helm as director.

If The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones are the AFL of fantasy film and television, Warcraft is like wandering down to your local oval to see a suburban game: Entertaining but basically crap.

I liked the movie's pace and brevity. Suspect after filming they went "This is not good" and decided to make the scenes quick and cut lengthy explanations and characters telling their sorry backstories. At the same time that makes some of it confusing but it's probably a worthwhile trade off to not have to sit in the cinema for nearly 3 hours for a movie that isn't going to make anybody's 'Best of 2016'.

Would I recommend it? If you're happy to turn your brain off, yes. Is Sterge wrong about the critics? Yes, yes he is. This movie deserves its beltings.

This is one of the movies that will benefit hard from a directors cut. A lot of scenes felt rushed and pacing was a little jumpy.

It wasn't perfect but nowhere near as bad as some critics are making it out to be, but granted I am a Warcraft fan so I carry a lot of bias.

The orcs were easily the more interesting bunch, I hope if there is a directors cut we see more of Durotan and Ogrim and their friendship. Gul'dan was straight up ****ing awesome and intimidating, portrayed amazingly well, loved the little cameo's of Bladefist and Grommash aswell.

The humans were a little more suspect, King Llane was kinda boring, Garona was boring, Lothar was alright but I simply didn't care much for him. Khadgar and Medivh on the other hand were handled very well, this is how you do magic in films Harry Potter.

I wanted to see more when it finished which was always a good sign.

As someone who's only experiences with Warcraft is WC III and Frozen Throne (and dabbling in WoW) I found the film perfectly OK. Not amazing, but certainly not as terrible as some seem to think. I'd go see the inevitable sequel (thanks China)

Stories been retconned in game so many times since Warcraft I (which is the era and events of the film) anyway. Orcs weren't 'good but demon corrupted' but bloodthirsty bastards looking for a new conquest since they finished off their homeworld.

Saw it last night. As an avid Warcraft fan right through from WC to WoW, I thought it was really good from a lore perspective (Sure a couple of things changed, but there are also contradicting details in lore from WC to WoW anyway).

I enjoyed it for the most part but as others have said, sometimes it just felt rushed.

Despite no "I need more mana" or "Job done", the Murloc cameo, the Polymorph and Khadgar appearing to level up spoke to the gamer nerd in me haha.

list of things Bomberboyokay doesn't like

1. Everything

Since most people that I know like Warcraft have said it's ok to decent i'll stick with their opinion. My main gripe with critics is their scale is completely off an average movie should get a 5 a good movie a 7 or 8 and only fantastic films getting 9 or 10 with the opposite being true for bad movies. Critics however give ok movies 7s or 8s and above average movies getting 9s or 10s. This causes things like this to happen, who is wrong in the below situation?
