Im on Darklands, Goblin Shaman, level 4 at the moment. I leveled in a battleground, pretty cool so far, kept getting 1 shot by level 11's though.

It bumps you up to level 8 stats in scenarios (battlegrounds are what they're called in WoW :)).

As a shaman you need to stay well clear of everything basically and just heal up the tanks and throw a few damage spells in there.

I'm on Darklands as well, name: Zaneshk Level 15 Chosen <Project Mayhem> guild.

Darklands is the most populated oceanic server, I'm on that. If you're any good I'll see if I can get you a guild invite (we've already got about 150 members or something ridiculous like that - but you can always use more healers).

I'm determined to be a DPS Shaman and not a healbot, in WoW I'm stubbornly an Enhancement Shaman.

Urgh... WAR isn't WoW mate. If you're a Shaman healing is part of your role. You can choose to go down the DPS path specialisation wise, but you're still a healer and would be severely limiting yourself just sitting back trying to hurt people.

Shaman's aren't a Healbot class at all though, they're 50/50 healing/damage and an awesome class to have on your side.
 
I am really itching to give this a try. I hate WoW PvP, but that is probably because of how poorly that aspect of the game is designed rather than not liking the aspect itself.

I also heard there are actual Oceanic servers as well :thumbsu:

I never stated WAR was WoW, all I'm saying is im not being pigenholed as a healer, I like having the choice. I roll "hybrid" classes in most games so I can change my play style when I want to do so, rather than having multiple classes to play.

Im going to try and maximise my dps as I'd like to try it out, however that doesn't mean I'm not gonna heal, I will if its needed or If I feel like. You're reading in too much to what I said.

If people didn't play their class outside the cookie-cutter spec that most people choose, you wouldn't have any basis for comparision or know the full potential of the class. Also Shaman were considered PVE Healbots in WoW, but since people learned the mechanics of the other specs, I know of guilds using 3 dps Shaman, 2 Enhance and 1 Elemental in Sunwell (As well as 4 Resto's). Currently my shaman is doing nice damage, hoping to improve my dps rotation (once i level more).

Darklands had queues over 600 today, which was an hour+ wait, when I tried to play with a friend who just bought the game, we rerolled together on Marius (Destruction).

You going to play on Marius more often?

I only rolled on Darklands as everyone else was there, but there might be a shift soon. Depends on where everyone else rolls, then I'll stick to one class.

Oh, and I hear ya about hybrids. Played a pally myself in WoW. ;)

even if I dont stick with WAR, I'm not going back.

I was out of state over the weekend, but my pre-order CE is waiting for me to pick up tomorrow :D

Probably yeah, I've yet to speak to the people who told me to roll on Darklands.
 
It might be a while before I get to play this game... You guys get a good guild started, get some game progression and have all the key bosses on farm so that when I start I can power level with all the good gear. :)

Nah, just kidding. I'll let you know when I get it up and running.

I am rolling an Archmage on Anlec (Xuryan). The game has impressed me so far, apart from the exe issue I had on install. Love the Tome of Knowledge and the influence points facets of the game.

Been sick over the past few days, so no. :(

But from the little I've played so far, it is very enjoyable. I made my DoK look very vampiric and cool... he has glowing yellow eyes. Looks pretty scary actually. Can't wait to get into an actual organised and cohesive unit, can't stand PuGs.
