Remember when I found out my new seats for my captains club membership, and I was really happy? Well... blow that out your arse!!

These seats are crap, and not because they have a great view, it's because of the tossers around me! Everyone in that section are chardonnay sippers to the max!! It's annoying, because I'm the type of bloke who loves to have a go at the footy, and I'm sitting around these aging pensioners, who probably haven't heard a naughty word since they were diggers back in World War I.

I'm afraid to even shout out, "That was CRAP, he had him around the head you blind fool!!"

Gonna ring up the membership department tomorrow and see if I can get a single seat on the very same section, but down on the ground level.

Im in 346 and find we have the exact same problem. The oldies dont appreciate our enthusiasm and if looks could kill, I would have been dead a thousand times over :(

Time to start a revolution Ozz. Change that culture. Anyone else in that section do the same! Be yourself and let them know all about it. It's the footy, not the tennis! Maybe there's more people like you in that section but they're just waiting for someone to take a stand.

I'm in block 332 (city end, Roberts Rd wing block closest to ANZ stand), great view (similar to Captains Club) and you can speak your mind.

They said if I had have rang a week earlier they could have changed me for the Geelong game, but they can't do anything for the Geelong game now, which is fine, so he just said to give a call on Monday morning and he will be able to do it.

I'm one of the old farts sitting up there. But I give heaps of verbals and haven't noticed anyone giving me a hard time. Not that I'd care, they'd get a mouthfull back.

This is what footy is leaing towards: money for atmosphere in general. You have the corporate boxes for the suits who are just there for the prawn sandwiches not for the footy and the 'chardonnay sippers' who cannot take a bit of language. It's the fan that would give an arm and a leg to go to the footy that are missing out.

I think you are wrong. Most corporate box owners are avid WCE fans and the people they invite are footy enjoyers too, in fact some become members after the experience. Think about it, if you were invited to watch something you weren't interested in then you would probably say no. I have been invited many times to wildcats game and refused as I can't abide basketball as a spectator sport. The thing is that a corporate box is tax deductable for a business, that saves 30% business tax and the directors/owners etc dont have to fork out for a membership with their after tax (49%) earnings.

Now the chardonnay sippers* are an older generation that was taught that swearing and abuse was disgusting. When I was raised there were two words used in my house that were deemed terrible swearing by society~~~bloody and bugger. In my own home I rarely swear because my wife has been raised similarily. With my mates at the football and in the pubs and in factories we swore, it was a men thing. So these older people are only acting in the way they have been raised and lived all their life. For many WCE is their biggest interest in life. Yes, whilst young you can play many sports, have a marriage every few years, have a career and it's goals and have children, heaps of interests. For many of these people the Eagles are only second to their grandchildren. So please don't knock them. Everyone has their place in life.

ps * Anyone who sips wine is a philistine. Wine is there as a wash for the palatte. It needs to be swigged by the gobfull.
