richmond is out of the running according to ch 10. apparantly they wouldn't offer him a 4 year deal

That's not very Richmond-like. Usually they fall over themselves to offer 100 year deals.

Seeing as Carlton is rumoured to be prepared to offer 4 years, we have to hope that the Saints or Melb would too.

Somebody at freo needs to make a Warnock highlights video an drop it on there doorstep.
Get them interested in trading for him an then we can get a real bidding war going geelong might not be able to offer us good picks but a prismall for warnock or corey + pick for Warnock will add spice to the trade deals.
An means other teams will have to give up there first pick if they want any chance at all to get him.

Nothing normally happens untill end of the second last day at the earliest.
I actually hate trade week...Its torture for the first few days.

About the only thing you got right there is that Warnock and Griffen are similar value. (you're a very, very, very long way off that value on both though)
Other than that, that is close to the worst trading I've ever seen.
Adelaide - lose Griffin, gain pick 53 & 54
Port - lose Thomson and pick 54, gain Carr and pick 69
Carlton - lose pick 6 & 40, gain Campbell, Thomson & Griffin
Melbourne - lose pick 1 & 51, gain pick 3, Warnock and Dunn (in their dreams and there's no way they'd even bother with Dunn)
Freo - lose Warnock, Campbell, Carr (who has already walked), Dunn (who has been delisted and was a rookie anyway so probably not tradable) pick 3, pick 53 and pick 69; gain pick 1, pick 6, pick 40 and pick 51.
The overall gain for Freo looks ok, but the individual components suck.

Ottens and Blake are a handy combination. Ottens a good first string ruckman who can go forward, take a mark and kick accurately. Blake a good second string ruckman who competes well. King was booted to give Blake gametime.
They probably need a good developing young ruckman on their list who will be ready in 3-4 years time (they may already have one on their list), and they also probably need the salary space that trading a senior player would create (if Corey left), rather than giving it to a third ruckman.

But the highest bidder will be in terms of dollars, not during trade week so we will get screwed if Melbourne offer the most $$$$$.
They actually have two on their list, Trent West and Mumford. The last thing they need is another Ruckman, let alone one demanding 4 years and his salary.
Warnock wants to be the #1 ruckman there is no chance he would be willing to sit behind Blake and Ottens.

i think it will be a combination of both. stkilda, richmond and carlton all offering him big money, but it will all be around about the same amount, and eventually robbie wont actually nominate a team, he may have a preference but freo will say, look they are offering X amount, it is better for us to trade you there, would you be willing to go there instead of say carlton, and robbie will say... fine, im happy. thats just the way I think it will play out. but i could be wrong

One of the tv channels last night said that Richmond have already been ruled out because they won't offer 4 years. He'll be lucky if he can find one team who will bow to his demands, let alone two. I can't wait to get rid of him, he's a complete flog.
That's the sort of stuff that happens at 1.50pm on the Friday and we hope it doesn't come to that. All week Warnock will only be keen on one club but if it comes down to going to his second preference or Melbourne in the PSD he will hopefully choose the former.
It's unrealistic for us to expect him to go into trade week not caring where he goes. Lets say you went for 5 job interviews and all 5 were offering the same money. You'd still want to decide which company you work for, instead of letting your former employer decide, wouldn't you?

Wrong - he has nominated Carlton. He has agreed to terms and his management have notified Fremantle. He hasn't publically commented but has authorised Greg Swann to do so. Doesnt mean Freo have no chips (you do), but there will be no 4 team bidding war that matters a hill of beans.
A deal will get done, unless Freo force Robert into the PSD. Carlton have no interest in screwing over Freo, but wont offer pick 6.
