Pick 10 would still net us a beauty IMO and the extra 2nd round pick would be bloody brilliant this year.

Parrot, as you might appreciate in this hypothetical it is not a matter of using 6 to acquire Warnock but to keep a strong draft position as well as securing Warnock. Teams like WC and HAw have understood the importance of acquiring as many 1st and 2nd round picks as possible when rebuilding. We seem to be favouring the other route. Selling away a 1st and 2nd rounder for Judd was great business, but 2 years of a first rounder then bust (even though Browne was gifted to us at 36) makes me nervous.

However you do make a good point about involving third parties jeopardising our position in the trade process. My other solution all along has been to try to get a second rounder form somewhere else.

Our depth would be much strengthened with TG's scenario.

Yeah I agree. Keeping pick 6 is a must, unless it is packaged in a deal like TG has suggested.

Warnock is more than worth pick 24. He's a rising talent. You'd be crazy not to acquire him in trade week if he wanted to come to your club.

Can't let stuff like this bother you. Would say it would be very doubtful that the player freo will take at 24 would be the player the blues would take there so it is all irrelevant. And i would be very surprised if Dalziell was on our radar last year.

Also i would be very unhappy if we traded Stevie Browne i for one rate him very very highly and think we would be very silly to trade away a player we felt was worth a pick well within pick 20 last year. So essentially alot of people are willing to swap a pick 24 and a player worth > pick 20. I remember Mike Sheehan mentioning how much he rates Browne and as do i. Just dont think we can afford to be giving away a player of his talent and footy smarts.
